Does anyone have the schematics for the Lorex SG15F6584! I need to repair a blown fuse problem. I hope the problem is local to the main power supply. Is there a parts source for the lorex?

Base it on your budget. If they both cost the same then go for MPEG. If you plan on recording video from a DVR to a remote computer then you have to decide which is better for you.

If you cannot see the link that I posted above then you have a problem with your phone. I would ask did you download the Java, and did you download Supervisor? Once you can see the dvr from Africa then you can work on your DVR from there to figue out what is wrong. Does the blackjack work with Java? It appears that some Nokia phones do not work. I do not come in contact with enough phones to weed out what works, and what does not work.

avc760 video server E vs. videoviewer software
scorpion replied to gabiene's topic in Digital Video Recorders
When connecting to the older DVR then it will not transmit over the internet in MPEG, as it can only transmit in JPEG. The DVR can record in MPEG. Last night I tested an older 760, and it was in CIF mode and it connected fine with the Video Viewer. I could not make changes with the SERVER SETTINGS as it was shaded out and I could not select it. That will be my next issue to resolve. If the video is black then I wonder if it is a router problem of some sort? Hey! Can I steal your pics and put them on my website? Can you give me a pic of the Misc Control and the Video Viewer? It would be appreciated. -

No! Everyone has to get in line, and spray me. I can take the first ten shots OK, but the last guy in line may not get his chance! I am going to hate the baton sequence!!

Seeking Ideas to improve CCTVForum for 2009
scorpion replied to larry's topic in Questions about this site
5 posts are the ones that help the author of the post, and the other 95 are the ones where we talk about you behing your back. I do not know how you found out about the other 95 posts! Who leaked it to you? I did not think about a place to store manuals! That is a great idea! A place to store remote software .exe in the dealer section would be nice. It appears that 90% of the people that sign up, have just this one problem, and they get resolution, and then they have no other reason to come back as they are not installers, or retailers. -
I do not have any details of your setup so I will have to guess at it. You will do port foward on your router. Are you using the default port number 80 on the DVR or did you change it to a another number? Put that port number in to your router. If you can see the video on your local computer then that is the first step. If you do not see the video locally then you need to resolve those issues before you can see the video from a remote site. Put this in to your browser if you do not know your IP address www.ipchicken.com This will show you your public IP address. With your cellphone you put in this IP address, your port number, and your user name, and password. Default is admin and admin. This should work.

It will actually give you an error. Which DVR do you have? The 16 channel? Press Shift + Search buttons on the front panel You will see a menu of "searches" HDD Master Full list Record list System list Alarm list Motion list Try selecting HDD, or Full list to see if this will give you the info that you need. If the DVR is set to motion detect then you can use the motion list, and see how far back you can go. What do you think?

Are you talking about through the front panel, or are you talking about over the internet? Do a Hardware reset, and this will bring your password back to default. http://scorpiontheater.com/reset.aspx

I to ran in to this problem. I was logging in to an AVTech AVC 760 (JPEG style). It was set to CIF, and I was having the same problem. I too had the icon "shaded". This will be my next project. If anyone else has any feedback let us know. http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=14706

I have been experimenting with the Video Viewer (replacement Video Server E for newer DVRs) for the AVC 760A. It looks like it is possible to use the newer viewer, and connect to the older DVRS. I need to see which models work, and which do not. I need as many as I can get! This viewer has multiple DVR connections and yes it has the same small screen. There is a screen where you have an address book of DVRs. You can click on the first one, and then when it is loaded, then you can click on a second DVR, and it will connect! I think it can do up to 16 DVRs I connected to an unknown DVR model number. It was having issues, but it did connect, and I saw the quad screen camera videos. Although it kept showing "loading". It would not let me toggle from cam 1, 2, 3, or 4. I connected an AVC 761, and it loaded fine. It has tabs so that you can toggle back and forth. You can also set up a multi screen. I had a quad screen with DVR in number one slot with its quad screen, and in slot two I had the AVC 760A with it's quad screen. I was watching two 4 channel DVRs with 8 cameras on one screen. I love this feature! Here is where I need help. I need some DVR addresses, and the model type. I cannot use dyndns addresses as I can only doing numbered address at this point. Would you be kind to send me your ip address, and user name, and password? Please create a temp account so that you can delete it at a later time. Thank you for your help!

That is not my site. It is a site in Africa Digital Surveillance Systems ADDRESS 210 Athol Street Corner Johannesburg & Randjeslaagte Roads Highlands North Johannesburg South Africa You cannot use your cellphone with your DVR. How would you change out your DVR from a 760A to an older 760? I would tell you to keep the 760A if you planned on trading it back in!!

Try this one http://dsshost.dyndns.org Port 4040 admin admin Your phone should work with this address. If it does not work then you cannot view with 3G. If it works then it is a matter to resolve your problems. You say you have a 760AS DVR, but I am surprised to hear that it came with Video Server E! I would have thought the 760AS would use Video Viewer which is different then Video Server E. Which are you using? If you do have a 760 AS then you cannot connect with cellphone just yet. The AVC 760A / AVC 760AS has a Cell Phone Software, but it is a BETA and has not been released to the public. I am trying to get a hold of the BETA so that I can test it as well.

Any issue putting power supply in crawlspace?
scorpion replied to madcowusa's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I would not recommend it, but if that is all you can do then that is all you can do. How about walking in to a closet, and looking straight up, and mounting it above the closet door (on the inside). What do you think? -
avc760 video server E vs. videoviewer software
scorpion replied to gabiene's topic in Digital Video Recorders
You are just the person that I want to speak with. The second DVR that you have is transmitting over the internet with MPEG, and the older DVR is transmitting in JPEG. Is the first DVR in FRAME, or CIF mode? I am testing the Video Viewer because it can control multiple DVRs. I have tested the viewer on some DVRs. Some I have just the IP address, and the default password, but I do not know what kind of DVR it is, and what settings they are in. Without permission then I do not go in to menu as they can see me going through the menu on the monitor. I know the Video Viewer works on older DVRs such as the AVC 761. It should work on the AVC 760, but I have not tested one yet. Here is where you come in! I need to find out if it can be done in CIF, or only in FRAME. FRAME is MPEG, and CIF is JPEG. Can you connect to the older DVR in FRAME and CIF and let me know how it goes? WIth black video then this may be another problem, but I do not know what it is. Are you saying that the video are fine when downloaded to your computer, but then when you go to view the files that are on your computer you are having this problem, or is this a problem just connecting the viewer to your older DVR? Are you hooked up to a computer directly with a cable, or through a router? Are you viewing locally, or from somewhere else? If you would like to know more about you DVR then go here: http://scorpiontheater.com/cpcamtechsupport.aspx http://scorpiontheater.com/troubleshooting.aspx Thanks for your help! -
Getting Black screen using Panasonic WVNS202
scorpion replied to gcoolw's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I am not familiar with this camera, so I will only guess at your problem. This may not be the issue but it may be worth a try. Delete your temp Internet Files. Refresh your browser, and then try to connect again. You should get an active x prompt to download. If you see any warnings then go ahead and download anyways. It may say something about: The Application's digital signature has an error (or) The digital signature was generated with a trusted certificate but has expired. Download the active x, and run. _____________________________________________________________ You might need to update the active x software to the highest number, but I really doubt this is the issue. _____________________________________________________________ You may have a problem with your graphics card. You may have to update the card. -
You say that the monitor works fine with the spot out, and you cannot control the cameras. Yes this would be correct. You say the picture is messed up when you connect to the regular monitor out? If you see everything good in spot out then the DVR is working fine. Do you have a BNC to RCA adapter on the output? If so replace it.
