AV760 backup to PC, camera splitting

It appears that you are recording PAL 25IPS. (Frame). IPS per channel = RECORD IPS ÷ 4 channels = 6.25 per channel. Number 10, page 15. _____________________________________________________________ CIF PAL 100IPS ÷ 4 channels = 25IPS per channel.

  3. I find it strange that you cannot push the camera buttons to select different views even though it may be password protected. You should also be able to choose single camera or multicamera views. Things that make you go HMMMMM!
  4. I forgot to mention! I know the information in this post may not apply to you, but I put it in just in case someone else comes to this post from a google search! Power down the DVR. (Pull the Plug). Remove the hard drive. Replace the hard drive with a comparable hardrive. This will allow the DVR to record to the new hard drive until you can figure out how to "unlock" your DVR. It is possible that your video may get overwritten before you get to it! Once the machine is "unlocked", then you can power down the DVR again, and swap hard drives and then you can down load the video via the video out (monitor out) or through the Video Server S. _____________________________________________________________ If I remember right you can just power it down, and remove the hard drive, and then turn it back on with out the hard drive. It will not be recording anything, but you can still view your cameras on the monitor. _____________________________________________________________ WARNING!!!!!!!************ Do not remove the hard drive, or insert a hard drive while the DVR is powered up. It will blow the hard drive if you think this is a hot swapable hard drive system!!! TURN OFF THE DVR!! WARNING!!!!!!************ _____________________________________________________________ Now for something completely off topic. If you are having problems with this DVR, and you are having recording problems, but the DVR appears to be working normally then power down your DVR. Remove the Hard Drive by sliding it out. Reinsert the Hard Drive. This may "clean" out the dirt on the contacts allowing the DVR to "talk" to the Hard Drive, and vice versa. This is the same for the 9 channel version as well. _____________________________________________________________ The default password for this DVR is 0000. To key-in the Password, press the “Rightâ€

    IR Outdoor Camera

That appears to be the way you will have to do it. I am surprised that it did not have a "4 wire" system.

Need to disguise a ir camera(please help)

The most covert camera that I have installed involved one of those LED posters. You have seen them. They have the fifties drive in where the cars that are parked have leds in the tailights, or you have seen the bridge scene where the lights on the bridge are LED. Find a poster similar to those, and then embed IR LEDs into the scene. The poster has to fit the environment, or the environment has to be changed to fit the poster. The poster give you the "excuse" to run power to the poster (ala the IR LEDs) Place your camera into an object that belongs in the "scene". It could be an oversized electrical box, or it could be a birdhouse, or you can buy a large wallpack light (about $500.00) where you can cut a whole for the lens to look through. Now the next trick is to age it. You may have to collect dust from somewhere else and place it on your hidden cam to get it to blend in. It does not help to have a new shiny box in an old building. There are other aging tricks such as the layer of crackle paint then a layer of a top coat paint that gets crackled to give it the peeling and chipping look. What do you think?
  10. http://scorpiontheater.com/cpcamtechsupport.aspx Try downloading Video Server S and hooking up to the DVR. If he left it at default then it would be admin admin This might be a back door way to get in. It is possible to that it is password protected. If you believe that the DVR appears to be operational, then you might try a hardware reset. You will have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page to get to the Hardware Reset area of the page. I wish you luck!
  11. http://scorpiontheater.com/cpcamtechsupport.aspx Video Server S was used by the older machines before the 760. They started using Video Server S on the newer models when they came out, and then they upgraded the software to Video Server E. Choose Video Server E. The latest release of DVRs has a newer updated Video Server E that is "new, and improved". http://scorpiontheater.com/nubix4st.aspx

Hey RickA! I was in the wrong, and I should have kept my mouth shut. I am scared to death to tell him that I sell the hell out of these devices, and I would hate to hear what he would have to say about this device!! http://eclipsecctv.com/LYNXC_security_DVR.html It does not have H.264, and it does not have a USB port. Oh boy! What to do, what to do??? I finally got moved out of the house, and in to an apartment. I just got internet today on Monday. I look forward to getting "caught up". Now I remember why I hate moving! LOL! P.S. Wet cardboard boxes of various sizes for sell! Scratch that! Aqua based containers for sale cheap! Now I know how much stuff can fit in one of those portable "dumpsters"!

AV TECH avc 785 - firmware need!!!

Look on the board to see what numbers they put on there. When did you purchase the DVR? You may have a newer DVR, and we may not have the updated version. I have older ones, and I do not have the newer ones as of yet.
  16. LOL! Us southerners have to stick together! Wish you well if Ivan heads your way. If it heads our way then I will sit down, and assume the "crash" position, and while I am there I will kiss my you know what good bye!
  17. Devil is always in the details! I do not wish you luck. You are an expert, and a very skilled individual at what you do, and I am impressed with your knowledge. If you cannot get it to work then it will never work!! If you ever meet me in person, then I would suggest that you run away! I plan on doing the "Vulcan Mind Meld" to learn everything in your head!!!! LOL!
  18. Another mystery solved!

    Tropical Storm Fay

August 20th Wed As a hurricane this is almost a "joke" to us Floridians. The joke is over. We have had two feet of rain in Palm Bay, and we are expected to have another foot of rain dropped on our heads from Wed night to Thursday sometime. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/weather/hurricane/orl-tropical-storm-fay-update-082008-7am,0,7478008.story http://www.floridatoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage http://www.wesh.com/index.html http://www.local6.com/index.html http://www.wftv.com/index.html The National Guard is now roaming around, and reverse nine one one has requested that we not leave our homes, and travel around to allow emergency vehicle to get around. I need to leave Thursday morning to go to Miami. I wonder if they will allow me to get on to I95?? 5000 people in Palm Bay, and 10,000 people in Brevard County are without power. I am in a lucky "pocket" where I have electricity, and somehow the Cable/Voip/Internet is still running. As of 5pm the water no longer flows from our facets! Not even a trickle! My wife always pokes fun of me as I like to always, and I mean always like to keep about 10 cases of bottled water on hand. Now that we are in this predicament I have a feeling that my wife may come over to the "darkside", and support me in my "wierd facination of storing things for a storm". We cannot cook without water, and we cannot use the toilets. I did not do the usual storm trick of filling up the bathtub with water for emergency uses. I do not think there is a problem with the water system per se, but I think the sewer system is overwelmed, and they have shut off the water to keep waste water from going in to an over whelmed sewer system. There are places around here where they believe that the waster water has flowed from the sewer systems, and is now mixing witht the rain water. They have asked that children not play in the makeshift ponds / lakes and that they should wash off just in case. Now that the water is turned off that will be more of a challenge. Hopefully no kids will suffer from "dirty water issues". As of now most of you have heard about the 50 houses / mobile homes / manufactured homes that have been damaged. 9 houses are inhabitable. This was from a tornado that touched down. We will be counting our blessing as our home is fine. No roof leaks, no fallen trees on to the rooftop, and no street flooding pouring in to the inside of our homes. The cable company refused this morning to do a mid span cable replacement. This is where the cable connects on the wire, and not at a telephone pole, and then the wire has to travel to a telephone pole, and then travel down the pole to an underground pipe to a night club. I installed 3 large Plasma TVs and the only Hi Def channel that does not come in is the ESPN 1329, and the ESPN Channel 1330. All of the other hi def channels come in. The cable to the building is so old, and none of the cable techs want to change it. I cannot say I blame them as I did that kind of work years ago, and this one is not going to be fun in fair weather let alone in 40 mile an hour winds with 60 gusts!!!! LOL!!! I was going to do it, but they would not let me borrow their ladder. I hope the storm picks up speed, and move on out of here soon. The odd thing was that all of the red spots on the radar were in front of the storm as it approached so we got hammered. Now that the storm is slightly north of me all of the red on the radar is over my head!!!! Strange!!

Are you out of your mind?????? I am not selling you a DVR! My customers buy what they want to buy based on the money in their pocket! Now with your permission may I feed my family, and buy my toys, or shall I just allow these customers to go somewhere else and buy the cheapest Samantha Club, or a CostyLLC, or god forbid an all in one box with RJ11 connectors???? Do I really have to let these dollars walk away from me??? I do not install Pelcos at the house of the "little old lady" because I do not have the time to show them how to use the mouse to set record time line, and to set the motion time line plus all of the other simple settings that appear difficult to them. On top of that I do not want a band of "little old ladys" calling on a day to day basis asking "How do I log in to the computer"? OK, now how do I log in to the software again". I want all of these people to leave me alone!!!! If I can hand them an AVTech, and it meets their specs, (and not yours) and I can give them above board tech support when they really need it then everyone is happy. Please SELL ME YOUR FAVORITE DVR to me at $200.00 US, and I will pass this on to the little old lady for you so that she can have the latest, and the greatest. PS I want your home phone number too as I will have them call you for help. OH oh! My wife says that I am ranting again! Now she is telling me to think of icy, blue, cool water. Now breath. OK! I am better now! Excuse me for acting silly!! Now RickA will come along and dog me out for ranting! I am sorry cctvintegration. PS There are cheaper DVRs as well.
