  1. This is nice!! Are you in the video??? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kx4cmmSXUHs&feature=related http://www.isafetek.com/ _____________________________________________________________
  2. What was your responce when you contacted the manufactures in China, Taiwan, and Korea? I would imagine that you are building a million units, and you should be able to have them build the sensor board, processor board, and then all of the other stuff is already off the shelf such as micron's PC133 SDRAM, Xilinx cpld, atmel's flash, Plx's USB Controller http://www.micron.com/products/dram/sdram/ http://www.xilinx.com/products/silicon_solutions/cplds/index.htm http://www.atmel.com/products/Flash/ http://www.plxtech.com/products/net2000/ http://emwcs.avnet.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/EMController?langId=-1&storeId=500201&catalogId=500201&action=home Have you contacted Aptina (micron) to have a custom one built? Do you have a timeline when the product has to be on the shelf? With the above links, and if you do not mind CMOS chips you would be able to have a product on the shelf within 3 or 4 months. CMOS would be the key to getting an IP camera with POE I would imagine, but then again I am no engineer. If CCD High Def Mega Pixal is your standard then you will be setting new precedence! Your research, and development funds must be bursting at the seams! I can hardly wait to see what you market. It will be brutally expensive though. Off the factory floor your product is going to have to cost what $50.00 for the electronics plus casing, screws, mounts, packaging, shipping, marketing, advertising, and tech support, and then developing an engineers SDK, and then getting it to Avnet? It is to bad you could not find something off the shelf from the DigiKey catalog! Keep us posted at each stage of development!
  3. If you accomplish that task then I would be interested! The DVR is in linux. The video is encrypted. I do not know if you could do anything Java based or not. http://scorpiontheater.com/javaapp.aspx
  4. There is this as well! http://focus.ti.com/apps/docs/mrktgenpage.tsp?contentId=41246&appId=79&DCMP=DSP_IPNetcam&HQS=Other+OT+ipnetcampr http://www.appropho.com/NewWeb/Product_DM355_Product.htm
  5. http://www.aptina.com/products/image_sensors/mt9p031i12stc/#overview Built with Micron’s exclusive DigitalClarity® technology, this sensor features exceptionally low noise levels and low-light sensitivity. It achieves superior resolution—delivering CCD image quality (based on SNR and low-light sensitivity)—along with the low cost, low power, high performance, small form factor, and fast time-to-market of CMOS. With very low power consumption and variable functions, including gain, frame rate, and exposure, this sensor outputs high-quality images at high speeds and can be programmed through a simple two-wire serial interface. Even though it is CMOS it is 2592H x 1944V pixals • Micron® DigitalClarity® imaging technology • High frame rate • Superior low-light performance • Low dark current • Global reset release, which starts the exposure of all rows simultaneously • Bulb exposure mode, for arbitrary exposure times • Snapshot mode to take frames on demand • Horizontal and vertical mirror image • Column and row skip modes to reduce image size without reducing field of view • Column and row binning modes to improve image quality when resizing • Simple two-wire serial interface • Subframe windowed readout • Programmable controls: gain, frame rate, frame size, exposure • Automatic black level calibration • On-chip PLL The 5-megapixel CMOS image sensor features DigitalClarity—Micron’s breakthrough low-noise CMOS imaging technology that achieves >CCD< image quality (based on signal to-noise ratio and low-light sensitivity) while maintaining the inherent size, cost, and integration advantages of CMOS. Are you thinking of CMOS Analog??? I do not think that you would be disapointed with those pixal counts! In the real world this would be rated a 3MP when installed in a camera. You may try 20MP cameras perhaps?

Can you post the model number of the DVR? Perhaps someone may know a work around for that particular DVR? If the manu say it cannot be done then I am thinking you may have to switch to composite view.

  15. You need to put that on Youtube!!! I do not know your setup. Is it only on one channel, or is it on all channels? If it is on one channel then try to unmount the camera, and use something to isolate the camera from what it was mounted to. This would only matter if the camera is mounted to a metal building, or a pole or such. This is where ground loops can form. Building to building is the worse to create ground loops. You can buy inline devices that may cure the ground loop. __________________________________________________________ There is a possiblilty that the lines can be fed from a central power supply. You would have to disconnect all but one camera to see if the lines disappear. You may have to get a wall wart transformer to test this theory as well.

    Security system help for NOOB

Hey RickA When you said "lets meet for lunch", I was cool with that! As I pulled in to the parking lot I called you on the cell to find you, and you said that you were in a van wearing an orange shirt. I did not know you were coming out of a Sherrif's Van with an Orange Jump suit, handcuffs, and leg irons!!! I did not know that the Sherrif's dept had such large shotguns!! Also, can you talk to your boss about your expense account!!! The happy meal was alright, but................. I didn't get the toy I wanted!!

    camera quality

I disagree! These cameras are being used outside of what they were designed for. Put them in the right environment, and I bet they would rock! I would not use a Geo Tracker to join a Monster Truck expo either!! Then again a $200,000 Monster Truck is over kill for a family picnic don't you think?

    Is it possible?

I used to sell these things like hotcakes until they were made illegal! Darn it! They were a nice markup! I sold them to guys who thought that their wife placed a gps system on guys car to track him. I sold them to restaurant owners who wanted to maintain a "decorum" of tranquility. I sold them to the "crazys" who thought the "Goverment" was out to "get them". Aluminum foil hats sold well also! Some of the workers would buy them so that they could take a side exit, and the boss could not "see" the side trip. Some would eat lunch with a wife/girlfriend or they would meet them for other purposes if you know what I mean. There are those that buy them thinking that the cops were tailing them. I would ask them: Are you a drug dealer (knowing that they look more like a punk then anything else), and they would say no. I would ask did you commit a crime? They would say no. I said if you are in trouble with the law I have some other items that you may be interested in. They would say they are not in trouble with the law!! (???) They would say they saw the police drive up, and down their street. (Paranoid). One guy said that he was secretly dating a cops wife!! YIKES!! Excuse me I have to go now. I hear one of those "black" helicopters flying overhead. OK! They have whisper blades, but I can "feel" them out there! Which reminds me! I think a new X Files Movie is coming out!! They are out there!
