The DigiNet 4.X client will allow you to type in a name, but it is restricted to 15 characters. DigiNet 5.1 Server and client will allow you to connect to a longer name. But there is an upgrade cost.

Answers below: 1. We can provide you with the latest software. Kodicom has ceased development of DigiNet. We have and will continue to add new features to the Kodicom PC DVR software. This software costs us to develop, so in turn we have protected our software with online activation and charge a fee for its use. If you purchase the complete systems from one of our partners, we upgrade you for free. 2. All legit cards have serial numbers that track when the board was sold and who it was sold to. It is a silver number on the back of each DVR board. 3. The version of software can be found in the setup menu. Understand that pirated boards have cost everyone a lot of money. I hope this helps. You got ripped off. Where did you buy this? Kodicom doesn't make boxes for their DVR cards. Someone must be getting creative.

We like them so much we did a PR on them: http://www.saysecurity.com/seagateharddrvie.html We use Seagate in all our DVRs: PC, Embedded and Mobile. We have the occasional problem, but not like the old days. If you're building DVRs, you should be using Seagate. I have a source if you need them if needed. Just PM me.

Their core software comes from Kodicom.

Also, we can record both analog and IP cameras. (Axis right now)

We use XP Embedded with a DOM. BUT, we seal our version of XP Embedded (we call it XOS) so that it is read only. When the DVR is restarted it loads the default operating system.

Where did you buy this DVR? V 4.1.1 is not a released version.

Do any NVR’s out there support video watermarking or authentication? I’m looking on all the popular NVR sites and can’t find anything on it.

You really don't have many options. I know of 3 software packages that run the Kodicom boards.

All real kodicom boards now have a Holographic image on the back. All present and past boards have serial numbers. http://www.avalonsg.com/legal/

Send me the serial number from your board and we'll support you. But it looks like you have a copy board.

I would complain to the person you got the card from. They ripped you off. Not sure that anyone i know would support a copy board with new the newest software.

I'm afraid to say that 4.11 has a problem with backup. To make matters worse..... 4.11 was never released. It was sonly sent out with copy boards from China. I'm afraid you might be stuck.
