It all depends on the client software. Argus won't work. For our software, you just have to type in the host name instead of the IP address.

How important is audio / video sync?

Hey JD, You have mail. J -
ok, understand that for the web site, what about the client side. Kodicom uses 9 diffrent ports for client to server communication. Does Geo only use one?
-
Really? So will it save the port changes for each site so that you don't have to change the ports each time you connect?
-
but can you change the ports on the remote on a per site basis? Site A usees port 90, Site B uses port 91?
-
But i don't think geo would work either. Maybe for web viewing, but what about client?
-
If we list our customers with them, they will not sell to them. You don't always get this. I have seen them protect us first hand. We don't expect them to sell only to us. But we know that if we move a lot of product for them, they will give us a better price and we will continue to grow. We've made two trips to China to see them in the last 12 months.

Sunell is the best overseas supplier I have found! All others well... lets just say NO LOYALTY!

I thought the thread title might get your attention. I am somewhat confused as to the popularity of Geovision. I saw them several years ago when they were using characters from The Simpsons TV Show in their GUI. OK, so why is it that people buy Geovision? Is it because everyone talks about them in this forum? I can’t say the image quality is good. The GUI looks like a high school student put it together. Any you can buy from 100,000 web sites on the net… So you have no protection. So what’s the deal?
-
This is true about all the features. I miss inspector wiggum. We still laugh at the blinking eyes. Whenever we need a good laugh, we pull up the DVR with clip art. LOL No offense
-
There are a ton.... but again. How often are these used after the first 3 weeks?
-
you have PM
-
KSR-516 for much less.
-
I must admit, the new GE software looks good. I've not seen it for sometime. I know you know Kodiocm. Have you looked at the 516?
-
Sunell and Kodicom. I really like the new Kodicom 516. Sunell is great quality, but they don't have a 16Ch yet. So... we sell the 516 to those who need a 16 ch. Still move a TON of PC. I just can't get our current dealer base interested in embedded. I think if we had more reps this would change. It seems that people who search the web are looking for PC based units, and traditional dealers are the embedded guys.
-
Ok, but they are $$$. And I think the remote quality stinks. Maybe I have the old software.
-
How many people use all these features after the first 3 weeks? DVR’s just become something to playback video. I don't mean to downplay the importance of good features, but i think that stability, quality and ease of use are the most important long term must have items.

Good specs.
