Sanyo is ahead of the pack with this camera. I have standardized all of my camera purchases around Sanyo's new "Pan-Focus" series.
These are not "automatic focus", these are ALWAYS focused. I did not believe it until I saw it, but it is indeed accurate. The camera is always in focus and will never go out of focus. The camera will deliver foreground and background BOTH in focus. At the recent ISC show, I learned that Sony will have this technology sometime in 2008, but at the moment, Sanyo is the only one on the block.
I am saving about 10 minutes install time per camera. There is no focusing requirements or need to play with the lens to get the clarity or tightness that you need. Plus, there are no more service calls for re-focusing a camera $$$$$
