I am a newby but managed to get the dvr operational with my pc's monitor using the VGA output.
Also managed to get remote viewing on my ipad working with their app using the IP address and port in 'Information', (Setup showed something like 100.000.000.001 for IP and gateway etc.) Login = Admin and password.
After completing the installation on site at my bowling club and connecting to a LG 40" 720p flat screen TV, I was unable to get a picture with VGA and HDMI.
Unfortunately this TV does not report incorrect resolution, just 'No Signal', the Provision agent stated that I had to press and hold the 'Switch' button on the remote to change outputs.
The default resolution settings on the dvr are on maximum, HDMI is 1080p (only).
The TV also could not handle the highest VGA resolution, had to connect to a pc monitor and and select a lower resolution in the Basic Setup (there are 3 resolutions, the lowest being 800 x 600).
Later found that a quick press on the 'switch' button of the remote, the output would cycle to the next video output.
