Hm. First, remove cameras (galvanic) from poles. Just isolate. This the main and first step. Just isolate cameras from different "ground", than POE SW. . Second, you do not need any surge protection on camera side. Dual protection (if camera side protectors is grounded to different ground, than the POE SW) can cause ground loop, in case of lightening.

Return to JPG.....
shropna replied to shropna's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Analytic with JPG can be made not on camera more easy About bandwidth. Like i said, just one stream O course, JPG stream with the same frame rate and image size parameters will be more higher, than group of pictures based compression, but you need more streams from that type of source, to meet "real" live viewing and recording requirements... -
Return to JPG.....
shropna replied to shropna's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Just one stream per source. Less processor power per camera and "decoding". Less "theoretical" latency of signal. All "clients" take from that ONE stream necessary frame rate. Off course, second stream with small image resolution can be easy made on source for "slow" transmission line. "Down-scaling" JPG resolution takes less power, than decoding of groups of pictures, so, NO dual, triple, etc. streams from video source required. Storage capacity increases much higher and faster, than processors speed. -
IP PTZ with full analogue facility
shropna replied to mickyallsorts's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Sanyo HD5400 - 5600. Full HD digital "output" for recordig, and SD PAL output for traditional system and control via serial port (Sanyo SSP, Pelco D, etc. protocols). So, you can upgrade existing "analog" solution with Full HD recording resolution. -
So, main things, to have no "wavy lines": Use good coaxial cable. Main resistance requirements - 2 ohms per 100m shield, not more than 10 ohms central conductor. But, main thing, is avoiding ground loops, caused by powering from "accident" locations, grounding camera to pole, and etc.....

Does anybody know Lithuanian language? Because I'm sometimes do some courses about lighting protection, ground loops, "bad" coaxial cables, etc..... But my PPT's is only lithuanian.... But, one of examples:

To illuminate what?

Pickup is not far away. Only 10 meters about. Lighting - one natrium lamp at parking center.. That camera can produce "better" night picture, but only with slow shutter. Thats difference between another megapixel cameras You can see more "better" results with another cameras at still picture, but please, ask somebody to walk around cars in parking About link. Not only me manage cameras on that link. You can see different cameras on that address, also, bad adjusted cameras.... At that moment camera isn't 3500.... And not my adjusted

I,m edit my post with more information. But, this is DIY solution.

If you need cheap solution, you can use only two 3 position switches, and 12 VDC power supply http://www.fujinon.co.jp/en/products/cctv/pdf/j_1.pdf But. Only for "short" distances, an no possibility to control via DVR....

Sanyo 4 megapixel camera

HD4000 is discontinued cameras. You can see my images from new line Sanyo HD cameras there, and on next page: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=11322&p=125077#p125077 -
Yes, exist. If your customers drawing will be accepted like idea There is lots of ways and questions. You can build that system with analog cameras, traditional matrix and DVR, or, build virtual IP matrix, with IP cameras, NVR, etc.....

Few times i use setups with no baluns When CAT5/6 cable length not exceeds 100 m, you can connect one wire to signal, and all another to ground. And really no image problems.....

Day/Night IP Cameras
shropna replied to jmars's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
EX82s were around years before Arecont was established, totally different companies and totally different products. EX82 was the FIRST dual camera in the industry. I installed my first EX82 some 10 years ago. Sorry, my mistake. I'm about EX85..... -
Day/Night IP Cameras
shropna replied to jmars's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
rory, EX82, is an old Arecont dual camera in housing with IR iluminator Just, possible cheaper solution idea, with the same result :0 About Mobotix. Excellent reliability, but picture quality should be better, when compare Price/Picture ratio I'm test Mobotix dual imager in competition with Arecont. Arecont picture results is better. You can try Sony CCD megapixel cameras. Not lots of megapixel, but we got relay good results with that cameras And Sony has "Light funnel" feature. Decrease of megapixels at night, but summarize sensitivity of nearby pixels, to got clear picture at night. Also, Sanyo. Excellent day picture, possibility got good night picture, but reliability is not so good, and "stupid" settings. No custom settings flexibility.... But this is time question, i wish... -
Converting a normal Box Camera to a wide spectrum UV
shropna replied to SEANHAWG's topic in Security Cameras
About what is that discussion? UV (Ultra Violet), or IR? -
I,m use that type of setup in one project. Of course, MJPEG latency shorter, and "no load" on operator workstation. Also, H264 stream from Sanyo also has little latency, but, to get "no latency" on monitor, you will need powerful PC....

Loss of resolution while digital encoders and analog cameras
shropna replied to d_aliin's topic in System Design
Are You really sure about that? Please, test encoders with measurement generator or table. After my testings, "real" resolution from Bosch cameras and encoder (i'm doesn't test 1600XF encoders) is 2CIF, even at 4CIF encoder settings ........ I will try to prove this this week. Like example, PAL test generator attached to Pelco encoder: -
About IP PTZ HD cameras. Now I'm prepare project with Sanyo HD5600 IP PTZ cameras. Them has some unicue features - analog PAL output and RS422 Pelco D control. So, i will make "opposite" hybrid system - analog matrix switching and PTZ control with no control and view delay to operator "workstation", but with Full HD recordings.... All that signals are transmitted via the same CAT5e cable What you thing?

shropna replied to pipabix's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
If you will use AC mains power to cameras (housings), you should use 3*1.5 cable, due to safety. -
Loss of resolution while digital encoders and analog cameras
shropna replied to d_aliin's topic in System Design
Bosch encoders are reliable, but them do "deinterlacing" on entire signal. Real resolution from Bosch encoders is 2CIF.......... Just try set encoder stream to 2CIF or to 4CIF, you will see no difference. Also, if recorded images are good for customer, refer to Soundy post. -
Does any have experience with DigiFort software?
shropna posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I'm find that soft interesting. Different streams for Live and Record, virtual matrix... That's all at that moment from my side. Any comments from that software installers/users?
