My old expensive cameras test: Day

I used the Extreme IR for years, yes pricey but in the cases of say the UF500 the cheap ones cant touch it, that turns large pitch dark areas into daylight, blows away the Raymax also going by what I used. Im also impressed by the EX26LED but it is too expensive and now discontinued. Kalatel recorders

megapixel with IR illuminators?
shropna replied to jhonovich's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I'm hate Mobotix... Lots of marketing, but bad image (not sensitive, bad dynamic range), no management soft from manufacturer (storage management via cameras can work, if max few cameras on site....), proprietary Mxpeg codec.... Mxpeg not bad, but some restrictions to use it with third party VMS. But dual imagers, with simply lens not bad for IR. I'm use SanyoHD, autofocus, when IRC filter moves out. This helps -
Hm. As an "opposite" example, Bosch cameras (one of my favorite, excellent quality, expensive analog cameras), mains power AC or DC doesn't have grounding Also, mounting screw hole is insulated from camera body Thing, why
-
Best way, if you will use grounding, run ground wire from "central point".
-
If you use transformers (not a switching power supply) , no grounding necessary. Also, no grounding to camera is better than grounding to two different (different than control room equipment ground, as example) grounding points.

My experience is the same. Except 2500-3500, if you need also audio, local storage and more streams configuration flexibility... -

Focusing a MP camera

3300 will give you little bet night performance, in this situation, but not "critical". Camera doesn't have continuous auto focus, but this feature not necessary. Just auto focus for setup, and refocus, if IRC filter moves out (3300 - 3500 cameras). -
NVR for 16 arecont 5100's + maybe 9 more or a 2nd NVR
shropna replied to camerasguy71's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Support H264 only in "top" version.... But, for arecont 5100, this is not a problem -

What do you mean "better"? More X zoom? Faster autofocus? Just better picture? -

+1 Also, with Sanyo cameras you can do pre-focus and angle choose (if no remote zoom) like standard camera with analog service monitor. Otherwise - lots of time to do this job.... -

This is just "airport" feature. Not very well designed for port forwarding. Ask airport distributors how to....

AVI / DAV motion/lighting detection after DVR download
shropna replied to kingkong's topic in General Digital Discussion
I have the converter so I have the files in both .dav and .avi. Just need to find software for Win XP that will search the video and locate the greatest change between frames when the floodlight switches on. Too painful to sit through +- 8 hours of night, having to open each file manually, even at 8x This can be simple motion search. Just spent You time, or load video to any encoder with motion search capability. And come for results after three days -

.dav files extension means Dahua recorders Also, i'm every time wondering, about installers promises to customer. Like forensics search functionality. Lots of equipment manufacture companies can do ROI (Region Of Interest) search, but this is not "advanced motion search" ......... -

shropna replied to kingkong's topic in General Digital Discussion
Not so easy. If manufacturer doesnt has this feature, another manufacturers will not help.... Also, You can convert files from .dav to .avi, but ask about this feature rory And load this files to expensive search soft. Or, just spent You time to watch video -
Hm. Try "virtualize" RAS Plus soft on Linux... : http://www.winehq.org/ UPS, sorry, you try this....
