  1. I have the Panasonic BL-C210A and BL-C121A IP cameras and they work fine with the exception that they are not IR capable and their max. resolution is 640 X 480. The Panasonics allow me to set up to 5 events - as in: 1 Email an image when motion is detected. Motion is detected by an object moving in the image - not by heat movement. 2 FTP 3 images a second 6 total images from before motion was detected and 12 images total - 4 images a second from after motion was detected. 3 Email 6 images - 1 per second when sound is detected 4 Email 1 image per hour 5 Email .... well you get the idea. I plan to have a new IP camera - either wireless or POE - that will work with an external IR emitter such as this one: http://www.surveillance-spy-cameras.com/infrared-illuminator.htm I would prefer the camera have the capability to turn off it's built-in IR emitters - and use the external IR emitters instead. Part of this is so the camera is not noticeable with the slight red IR emission and partly because I may mount the camera inside the home aiming out of a window - and don't want the cameras IR emitters to bounce off the window glass and confuse the camera. I hear that a 'cut filter' is a good thing to have with an IR capable camera. I don't need pan or tilt and would like better resolution than 640 X 480 - which is what I get with my present cameras. The camera should have the capability to allow me to view it remotely, and, when motion is detected (motion determined by comparing two images - looking for a change - and not relying on heat detection). User MaxIcon suggested Hikvision 2CD2032 bullets and/or 2CD2332 turrets and that I ask here about software that would meet or exceed what I get with the Panasonics.
