Hey guys, so I am sorta new to this whole cctv thing. My dad wanted to update the cctv's he has at his gas station and he had some security people do some estimates and they said it would be a couple thousand and I told him we could work on it and save some money.
So I have everything I need for except for the Video Loss Detection circuit that's used to cut off the gas pumps.
I found this one but its kinda expensive (4 channel): http://promaxusa.com/Video-Loss-Detector.html
here is another site: http://litelink.com/products/vld-3002.htm?gclid=CjwKEAjwvPepBRCoqo37teOD1XsSJAC7v6WQWFgGzesh0oZg4BiXnZ-Mg7szqGL4wQAqFXyppMhyxRoC2Rzw_wcB
So I'm not sure how "techie" you guys are on this forum but i was wondering if there were any special usb like say arduino like devices that have a bnc pass-through, I wanna analyze the signal, I assume that I could look at something like signal to noise ration, something to do with signal strength or even just picture analysis. I might be able to do something with micro controllers also (if possible). I would think a hardware solution is a bit easier than a software one.
I just need to create or buy something that would sorta flip a switch if the signal was lost or cut off. Thanks for any help.
Update **
So I found this video online
the guy talks about something called terminal blocks, I think that might help me get what i need
