Drilling through my home - cable bundle is big (Foscam)
SynologyHosting replied to maillme's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Normally you should drill it from the inside. You can do it left or right from your power socket on the first floor, and then can put nice RJ45 wall socket inside. In order to keep all cables outside your house and make just 7mm hall, just put any outdoor junction box https://www.google.com/search?q=outdoor+junction+box Good luck! -

POE Switch for IP Cameras & NVR
SynologyHosting replied to BobCCTV's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I would say all depends on your IP cameras locations As example its better to have a few separate budget 4 POE ports switches and have single cable to your main switch/router, rather than you have to arrange plenty of cables to your one 16-ports switch p.s. any POE switch will work with your IP cameras -
Could you double check your model number please?

Guys, why just not connect your cameras, using Synology surveillance station? Normally you don't need ANY configuration except of bitrate settings in Hikvision settings!

Help designing network for Synology NAS and 2 x Hikvisions
SynologyHosting replied to George 3G's topic in System Design
Hi George Don't understand why you need ethernet switch in loft space if you just want to connect Synology there. You two POE injectors should be connected to your local network via switch/router As long as you connect your Synology to your local network via cable/wifi, you can start to get data from your Hikvision cameras. Good luck! -
