Is a good resource for port forwarding help for remote access. Basic ports: 21, 80, 81, 443, 3389, 3550, 4550, 5066, 5511, 5550, 5552, 6550, 8866. or DMZ.
I am not sure if this is the same issue your are experiencing, I had the PTZ not work on web cam and finally noticed that I did not select “Enable Remote Controlâ€
5GB is what it looks like. http://www.evdoinfo.com/content/view/2343/64/
http://www.evdoforums.com/thread9389.html. Maybe that limit is just for the phones and no the data card, but probably not. Keep us up to date, if there is not limit I will get a data card.
Even more disappointing is that Comcast, Time Warner and AT&T are looking at the same limit for land line broadband! That is not nearly enough! After 5GB $1 per GB is what I have heard.
I would love to set that up!! Did you use a phone and tethered, or did you get a broadband card? Also, do you anticipate any issues with Sprint limiting data usage to 5GB?..thanks!
I called to confirm (as I almost did yesterday before I posted) and I owe you an apology! I will double check my information and recollection before I post again! While he did have a Blackberry, he also had a Treo that he used for his remote access. Sorry for my incorrect recollection! I realize NO information is better than BAD information, and will post with more discretion in the future.
I have seen Gview V2 work well on two different blackberry phones from sprint. I do not know what model numbers. It work on the original phone and the replacement phone after the original was dropped in the toilet
On a PC based systems I have many times hidden a USB Hard Drive through a wall in the event that a DVR is taken. I have not had one stolen yet, but if they do, we should have the footage until the DVR is disconnected. I have also setup an old DVR as a decoy before. Just run some loop through cams to it. But again, I have not had the satisfaction of one being stolen and still recoding.
I have heard that as of June no more OEM and by the end of the year no more retail either….I have been wanting to conform also. GeoVision should be fine with Vista though.
