    Turret camera with Audio in?

Hi Tom Thanks for the reply It doesnt have to be Hik hence me asking about 'any other make' Am intereseted in any turrest with audio in but have only found the Dahua. The NVR seems to cope ok with the 5MP Hik turret I fitted last week and the picture is better than my existing 3MP domes which are still pretty good but 3MP would also be fine Have looked at the spec on the NVR and it lists compatibilty with lots of cams (inc 5MP) but most of the makes I havnt heard of and cant find for sale online Just searched for ADE and came up with a couple of companies ...one was 'source security' is this the one? Thanks Tom
  2. Hi All About 3 years ago I fitted a Hikvision NVR and 4 Hik DS-2CD2132F-IS dome cams. I have been extremely pleased with its performance exept ONE thing. Being outside the cams suffer from the usual IR nighttime reflections in the rain making the picture sometimes illegible (done all the suggested things re the foam seal etc but its an inherrant fault of these domes....should have done more research re domes outside. SO one by one, as funds allow, I am replacing them with turret (pig nose) ones. I fitted a Hik 5MP one last week and it is MUCH better not showing any reflections at night BUT 2 of my older dome cams (1 front and 1 back) I have fitted a mic to with great success...its just a cheap £5 thing from Ebay but works great...passive... no power needed and it's so sensitive you can hear what people are saying as they walk past the house...not that I do but its a useful feature to have. The Hik domes have an audio I/O facility as well as an alarm output (which I dont use) I haven't been able to find a Hik Turret though with audio in ....also looked at the Uniview range and that's the same,,,cant find a turret with audio for a mic. I have come across a Dahua turret one which looks ok and is half the price and has a built in mic but not sure on compatibility with my Hik NVR (DS-7604NI-SE/P) but might be worth a punt at £50ish Would prefer to stick with Hik if poss though so just wondered does anyone know of a Hik or Uniview (UNV) or any other make (other than the Dahua with built in mic I mentioned) with an audio in facility? Thanks in advance Tom
  3. Hi All I have 3 Hikvision DS-2CD2132F-IS dome cams connected to a Hik DS-7604NI-SE/P NVR When I first installed the system at my home about 18 months ago I had trouble with having to regularly press the reset button on the cams as they would randomly stop working for no apparent reason even after trying new cables ..re routing etc etc. Then suddenly without me actually doing anything (that I was aware of anyway) they all started behaving themselves and have been great for at least a full year now with 100% reliabilty (hope I haven't jinxed them now ) ANYWAY I want to add another cam now (wish I had bought 4 at 1st) and wondered on any suitable one to add. I am perfectly satisfied with the ones I have but on searching for a 2132 now they have incresed in price quite a lot and are much harder to find...alot of sites are saying the 2135 is a 'replacement' and although much more readily available and cheaper on reading up it seems they may well have chinese firmware and dont seem as good a spec as the 2132...same applies to the 3132..ie only 2 axis adjustment. SO are there any other alternatives with UK firmware/language...any make will do...with an equivalent or better spec than the 2132 that will be fully compatible with the DS-7604NI-SE/P NVR?...the cams I have now are 4mm but fancy getting a 2mm as the extra FOV would be handy for what I have in mind for this additional one but 4mm would be ok.....nothing more complicated to set up than the 2132 as it took me ages to get my head round that Have found a couple of 2132's from supposedly UK sellers for about £90 although they dont have an S at the end so are non mic capable...though to be honest this wouldnt be a prob as I have never got round to micing up the others. So would I be best just getting another 2132 or what other options have you guys tried? Any advise greatly appreciated. Tom
  4. Khx Thanks to your suggestion I got sorted: Just after posting my last reply I looked for but couldnt find a spare network cable so with you mentioning it I searched for the 'Virtual Host' posts on this forum. Sure enough I didn't have it enabled in the NVR's network settings...once I did I managed to get into each cameras controls Just got to read up now what all the controls do but am a happy bunny now I can actually do it. A big thanks again for pointing me in the right direction " title="Applause" /> ....Does this forum have a 'Thank a user' button? Tom
  5. Thanks for that much appreciated. I still have trouble getting my head around all this IP,Subnet, etc stuff so not exactly sure how to : " Set an unused IP on the computer/laptop in the same subnet.. such as 172.16.1.90" The addresses of the 3 cams are: 192.168.254.7 192.168.254.4 and 192.168.254.6 The 'Internal NIC IPv4 Address' (Whatever that is?) is 192.168.254.1 The 'IPv4 Address' (which I have worked out is the IP address of the NVR as that's what brings up the login screen to access the NVR) is : 192.168.0.23 But you have certainly helped put me on the right track and am learning a bit more about it each day...will try and have a go over the weekend and post here how I get on. Thanks Tom
  6. Hi Khx Thanks for that but it seems that I dont know how to actually get into the web interface of the cameras themselves. I have the 3 cams plugged directly into the back of the NVR and then the NVR connected to my Sky router. when I use SADP of Hikvision Tools it just shows the NVR itself not the actual cameras Do you know how I can access the menu of the cams instead of the NVR? Have attached a couple of screen grabs of the only screens I know how to get access to.
  7. Hi All This is my first post so hello to all my name is Tom. I posted this question to another forum a couple of days ago and don't usually post the same question to multiple forums but haven't had a reply and it's only had 2 views so hope you guys can help. After reading lots of test reviews etc I have just bought and installed a Hikvision DS-7604NI-SE/P NVR and 3 DS-2CD2132F-IS dome cams. I bought it from Ali Express and even having to pay £14 import duty it was a big saving on UK prices. I am totally new to this and had never even made up a network cable before although am not too bad at things like that being a gas engineer and am always doing stuff with my PC's etc... anyway I got a crimping tool and plugs and reel of cable and installed it all & everything worked well first try and I have even (after hours of reading) got it to display on my windows phone using iVMS 4500 I am really pleased with the quality of the footage and hardware. The Hikvision GUI and website etc though is definitely not the easiest to follow for a newbie like me Anyway my question is: How do I get into the menu where I can select the Day/Night and IR settings of the cams as I cant find it anywhere? I would like to have a play with the nightime IR settings etc individually from the daylight controls as it's looking a bit blown out on 1 of the cams at night. I have read the 'how to's' on various sites which are great but I cant find the 'Basic Configuration' tab . I can find a configuration tab where I can adjust the brightness and contrast of the cams but not the tab with the more intensive controls like setting auto IR etc either on the menu direct from the NVR or the one you get after logging in. When I received the NVR it had firmware version 3.0.9 and I have just updated to firmware V 3.0.10 which went without a hitch but still cant find anything. I have clicked on Remote Configuration, Local Configuration, and all the sub menus under 'Camera Settings' but cant for the life of me find it! Hope the experts here can help. Thanks in advance Tom
