Do you think it better to use a NAS or a NVR since the software comes with them? -
Router Does Not Recognize IP Camera

My ip camera is connected to the poe switch and the switch is connected to the computer. Everything is great, but the router does not recognize the ip camera: just the computer. How to configure the router to recognize the ip camera from the computer? Thanks!

Router Does Not Recognize IP Camera
BeatMaster replied to BeatMaster's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
That was the first thing done. The router only saw the switch: not the camera. -
I have a Hikvision camera and the ivms 4200 program does not activate the camera. It says, "Log-in failed". Is there a fix for this? Thanks

Need Help! Ip Camera selection for Computer or Possible NVR.
BeatMaster posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I am very new with surveillance. I have a Mac and a Cisco PoE switch in here for computer networking. So I purchased a Swann 1080p 3MP IP camera to try out for my first time surveillance setup. I downloaded the software from Swann and here is my results... 1. The Swann software was very buggy in an insane way, but the day live view was ok. The live view was choppy for some reason. The software was really bad though. 2. The night view was not acceptable at all. So maybe it was my entire setup or something. I was using a quad Mac Pro with zeon CPUs. Therefore, should the surveillance thing be done without the computer? Does anyone have a good night vision camera highly acceptable? Maybe the Swann ip camera and software perform better with the complete Swann system. The box stores here don't have many brands to select. So I pick the Swann because of the reviews. Therefore, what are the NVR's and ip cameras to buy that won't break the bank but perform better or acceptable? Any input would be appreciated.
