We have used the Memocam successfully on many occasions, its a useful device.

The Archos pvr has both video out and computer usb connection, transfering the images is not a problem once you have recorded them on the pvr.
-
When we install dvrs or pc based systems in false ceilings, we use plastic coated steel electrical banding (the type with holes in it used to secure large cables etc to cable trays). We screw 2 x slings of this to the proper ceiling and just let the dvr/pc hang there. This also keeps the fans up out of any dust that may accumilate on the ceiling tiles.

The easiest & most effective way isto use a PVR like the Archos 400. Take this to the multiplexer or DVR site & record the required footage onto the pvr. You can then display it straight off the pvr or display it on a large screen monitor, download it to a computer or record it to tape. You don't even need to find power for the pvr as it has its own battery.

HELP.Cant find Key Pro Card Set Up Fail
baywatch replied to paowens76's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
We have had this problem on a few occasions after trasporting the computer to a customers site or after working inside a computer. It normally means the Geo card has been disturbed in its slot (even though it doesn't look loose), we take out the card & put it back in & it cures the fault. Worth a try. -

Some of these cameras work really well make sure you get ccd cameras not cmos ones. -
newbie here, looking to build 16 channel system
baywatch replied to eva01's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hi Eva Which country are you in, this will make a difference to the prices you pay. -
Avermedia do a Linux card & so do LinLin.
-
Avers do sound and we had a card from them with hardware compression that is very nice. I have always been impressed with the image quality of the Avers (when we sold both we wouldn't show an Avers next to Geo as it used to show it up) the problems we had was stability issues. Avers main business is display equipment & we found it very frustrating trying to deal with people who were not really security orientated. Maybe its all changed now ?

split ohne video signal on two monitor

As AV advises it will cost virtually nothing to try it & like AV we have seen situations where things shouldn't work but they do & the opposite also happens. -
Hi Scottj Like to name the oem?
-
Yes they are easily joined, but be careful that you don't pull wires out of the plug when stripping insulation off.

Geovision is a very good allrounder with a lot of features. Another manufacturer that we have used & seem to have their act together now is Avermedia. We tend to stick to Geovision now as some of our existing customers already have some Geo systems already & useremote view.
-
Maybe the Geovision GV1240 8 camera card would suit you. Have a look at for the card. We are nothing to do with RF but if you want a complete system then maybe we can help.

a battery to power cctv 12 v. cam
baywatch replied to blowrabbit's topic in General Digital Discussion
We have a spare rechargeable battery that came with our test monitor, we frequently use that to power a camera to show a customer different camera angles etc -
We use www.rfconcepts.co.uk

Which country are you in ? It sounds like you may be using a pal camera with the Geo set to ntsc, check that nobody has changed the setting. If so go into "video source" and change from ntsc to pal.

Intelligent Security Surveillance Systems on the Horizon
baywatch replied to securityusa's topic in General Digital Discussion
The Iomniscient system has won the top award at Ifsec and is a very sophisticated one. It is even supposed to be able to see a black box on a black background just by the slightest difference in pixel colours. -
Yes you've got it exactlyRory. We saw a demonstration of their nightvision feature years ago. It looked very impressive in a controlled situation ( they had it set up at Ifsec) but when used in the real world it was no advantage.

Rotary dial phones. I remember installing them.

An advantage of the speed dome over conventional ptz is also that people cannot see which way it is looking, unlike the older ptz setups.
