Anybody have any dealings with these in Taiwan. We are thinking of testing a few & would be grateful if anyone has anything of interest on them
-
BTW like Rory, I can't understand why these guys don't look at each others systems & pick the best parts out. They all have + and - features

It is a 4 camera unit NV7000 with 1 x audio, cam 2 is a little flakey at the moment. http://dragonvision.no-ip.info:8020 User = cctv pass = cctv We also have the Lilin IP dome still up on http://uplandstavern.servebeer.com:8010 User =demo pass = 123

We are still testing the Avermedia card with hardware compression & it is stable. Have had a few issues with remote control setting up but Avers in Taiwan seem to have cracked that now. Still can't get 2 way sound however (Avers trying their best to get it working). Have a few concerns that Avers keep blaming our router for the glitches, we have run many systems using our network with no problems. Tried to explain to them that it needs to work on our customers networks that we can't change loads of settings on.

BOSCH.. Need Urgent Feedback!!!!!
baywatch replied to cctv_down_under's topic in General Digital Discussion
To be honest, I have never even looked at using Bosch because of the prices, they send me fliers & the prices frighten me. -
Just the dongle, but we have had 1 or 2 customers computers that could not be upgraded with the dongle, they kept giving the error can't find keypro. As it happens the customers concerned were happy with their systems as they were so we just reinstalled the older version. We have upgradedquite a few systems & only found the 2 problems. I don't know what the problem is.

Bullet cameras are no problem, simply screw the bracket to the camera tray that comes with the housing. The cameras with the built in I.R (about the size of a coke can) we mount in a similar way to the bullet but take the glass out & it looks good with the housings we use. btw Lilin now make a housing with built in I.R for normal box cameras. http://www.meritlilin.com/catalogue/5880-e.jpg

1st advice, stay away from cameras with built in I.R. lighting, use seperate I.R. lights to avoid spiderweb problems.

VIDEO OUT on DVR CARDs
baywatch replied to goalie's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
You can also use a TV out box such as the one made by Avermedia, this goes between the monitor & PC. It supplies a composite & S video output to mimic the screen to a TV/Monitor. -
We use a systems made by a company called Senstar Stellar, their website is: http://www.senstarstellar.com/Main.cfm?URLPage=Home&URLSubPage=Main Or look at the videos on: http://www.senstarstellar.com/Main.cfm?URLPage=ProductsLists&URLSubPage=Video They explain the different systems quite well. The buried system is almost totally undetectable.

We have run ptz cameras using both the manufacturers keyboard & Geovision system at the same time. Depending on the camera type & maker you should be able to daisy chain the cameras, you should only need 2 wires for most cameras (we use LinLin).
-
We use outdoor PIR units manufactured by Voltec for low budget systems & Redwall units for higher value installations. Both units can be obtained in anti-pet form. We also use a perimeter detection system that can be physically mounted on the fence to detect movement & this is much less liable to false alarms than PIRs, costs a lot more however.

Back to question If you absolutely must use wireless (sometimes unavoidable) use a wireless transmitter/receiver kit that you can use with any camera. This allows you to use the best possible camera for the circumstances.

Just put audio on camera1. Sounds good over the lan, don't know how it will sound over Internet ?

Just got the Avermedia NV7000 up & running. Have a look at: http://dragonvision.no-ip.info:8020/ Username = cctv Password = cctv Will leave it up for a couple of days.

About the legalities, what country are you in ?
-
The RF dome is internal only (they told me they are having a vandal resistant external version in soon). We use Lilin almost exclusively & they do everything we need. They are almost certainly above your budget, especially with the external housing. The only thing you need to run them on Geo is the Net card.
-
You will need a GVNet unit to control the dome. Is it an external dome you require & how much of a zoom/ow light ? If it is external, you will not find a PTZ dome inside your budget (if you do let us know)

It is such a pain needing the serial number, we have customers like BurgerKing who have 15 systems. If we want to upgrade them all we must get all the serial numbers. Version seven is so much better & gets rid of some of the glitches of earlier versions that we would like to upgrade. We were told that Geo would be matching the serial numbers returned against invoices (I don't think so) to try to prevent the copying. Guess the only way is to wait until the customer requires a new system, supply version 7 and then if he wants to upgrade the others charge him a fee to cover the travelling/labour involved. Good lesson for us to record all serial Nos in future.

Sorry its not a card but a box as Rory explained. Weve used these O.K.

You can get a 4 camera card for udb 2.0 port with motion detection. The motion detection works pretty good and it can be networked. The video settings are very basic, you can not adjust each camera individually but if the lighting is about the same its not a problem. Its reasonably cheap here in U.K. (don't know about US). http://www.grand.com.tw/en/product_form.asp?lwk_series=51&lwk_product=e-010&lwk_page=

Unless you have the very latest cards that came with 7.0 then you need the dreaded dongle. These are free from your Geo distributor if you supply them with the serial number off the card.

We have single camera & 4 camera mobile dvrs with audio on the single camera both with 160 Gb Hdds. The single camera units are badged as Deawoo units & have very good search functions. These are very popular with the local authorities for fly tipping, neighbours from hell etc. We can also supply single camera digital walkmans (with built in screen for setup) which work on 12 volt. If you want I can PM you prices & specs.

Kodicom software?
baywatch replied to bob the b's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Avermedia has a card with hardware compression now, the NV7000 we have just ordered one to test. http://www.avermedia.com/cgi-bin/products_security_nv7000.asp?show=9#1
