Those google searches would be similar to what I want to do. Just with an ip camera. After I got to thinking about it, could a guy disassemble the camera and re mount the pan motor so that it turned a friction wheel to move along the track? All the programming/ software would be intact, and I’d have one interface to view and move the camera. Might have to solder longer wires to the motor, but should work in theory?

Okay, so I don’t know where to start on this journey so I’m hoping somebody here can point me to some leads. A project I’d like to do.... I’ve got an ip camera system setup at a remote location using wireless acces points. I’d like to add a bullet camera but have it mounted to a rail of some kind so that using a ptz joystick I could make that camera slide horizontally across that rail. Maybe a length of 30 feet. Nothing seems to exist on the market so I’m wondering if I could fabricrate this myself. Seems like I should be able to hack the pan function/ programming of a ptz to make a small electric motor turn... any idea where I might look for additional information? Hello everybody, in my house I've got two NVR's, one is a Hikvision NVR with a camera on the house, and another NVR ( a dahua setup) that is installed in the house, but cameras are streamed in from about a 1/2 mile away (work) Anyway I've got both systems running fine, I can remote view each of them, however I need to use a separate app for each NVR. Seems the Dahua one only works with gdmss hd Lite, and the hikvision was setup using the ivms 4500 app. I'd like to be able to just have both devices setup in one app, the gdmss lite, but I can not for the life of me understand why it won't work. when setting up a device I put in all the same IP address, ports, ect.. as it is in the Ivms 4000 app, but I get a time out failure. Only thing I can think of is that under my port forwarding, the https port (4443) will not open when I check it with canyousee.org I've opened it just like all the others in my router, but not sure why this one won't open. Does that even matter? well Thanks if anybody has any insight. Justin

Hello, I've been trying to do some online research and I seem to get more confused the more I read, so hopefully somebody can walk me through a hopefully easy networking setup. I installed 1 camera on my house and set up a NVR. Nvr is a 4 channel Hikivision DS-7604. Camera is also Hikvision POE. Everything is up and working great, I am able to view the stream on my local network just fine but the problem is remote accessing it. I've been trying to use the iVMS-4500 app on an android phone. nothing I try seems to be working. My Router is a ASUS-RT AC66U. I first tried port forwarding the usual ports, 80, 554, 8000 and have checked them with the canyouseeme.org page and they are all open. I input the NVR's ip addres in the app, and I can't get anything to work. I also tried changing the ports to 90, 10554, or 8080, and 5554. Still nothing. Makes me think I must have some other setting not setup right. Also when I changed the ports in the NVR to something other than 80, and 554 I cannot log into the nvr over the web browser. But as soon as I change them back ( over a monitor hooked to the nvr) it works again. I thought the ports have nothing to do with the local network. Anyway I'll try to answer the questions best I can and to start here is a few screen shots of the router and NVR. Thanks guys!
