    SUPPORT DAHUA

CVI will display on PSS cause the dahua DVR protocols and port can still be accessed the same way as a older DVR, the only problem is because PSS is outdated you don't get the full functionality and most of the time you will get issues with compatibility Regards

    SUPPORT DAHUA

Hi Topchips, Maybe you can assist me? I'm also located in South Africa and am looking for support on Dahua products. To date I have contacted their on-line support a total of 7 times and have e-mailed every single one of the e-mail addresses provided on their website without a single response. I contacted ELVEY's head office but they couldn't answer my question. If your are part of the local Dahua support please help me, alternatively can you please point me in the right direction? I installed 3x HDCVI recorders (51HCVR7204A, 51HCVR4108HS-S2 & , 51HCVR4116HS-S2) for a client in a very high crime area. These recorders are remotely linked via a WLAN 150Mbps (Ubiquity Airmax M5) outdoor private network that does not have an active internet connection. SMART PSS is used to remotely view and manage the three recorders and all the cameras (in total 24 Dahua cameras). PC-NVR is used to record locally as a security measure in case the DVRs are stolen or damaged. My questions are the following: I) Can PC-NVR be forced to record the 2nd stream instead of the main stream? (Recording 24 cameras at 4000 – 6000 Kbps is too much for the network. Lowering the main stream bit rate at the recorder side is not an option as the highest quality video must still be available if needed). II) How does one view PC-NVR locally recorded data with SMART PLAYER? (PC-NVR saves all its data in the MEDIA folder which can only be accessed from PLAYBACK in SMART PSS while PC-NVR is running. This is possible with GENERAL PSS) III) Both the newer recorders (8CH & 16CH) do not display correctly on GENERAL PSS. It seems as if it runs at 1x frame per second (live view and playback). I suspect this to have something to do with H.264H encoding. Is (H) not supported in GENERAL PSS? They do however display (playback and live view) correctly in SMART PSS. Good day Sorry for my late response,I have created a how to for you on the setup of the PC NVR : https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0RllNPzi5cnSUJRaUJaMkltb0k Currently you can only record the mainstream, however I know Dahua is busy adding that feature on the new smart PSS, At what resolution u recording? You will have to cut or export the footage you want first then do smart player playback, general PSS is outdated and is not fully compatible with the latest DVR's You can also use a DSS server or Dahua Scheduled back up software to back up the DVR's footage Please let me know if this helps

    Indoor dome camera question.

Good day It doesn't matter where you put the camera as long as you can see your objective, you are able to adjust the dome camera so your picture wont be upside down, you will need to disable the infrared , most cameras have a menu button on them which allows you to adjust certain settings if your camera has that then you can set the day/night mode to color, if it doesn't you can open the camera and disconnect the IR board Regards

IP and analog cameras on NVR

Good day If memory serves I don't think it is possible, in theory the video server only has one ip address and the Nvr will only see it as 1 camera, what we have used in the pass is 1ch video server per camera, that has worked for us , We haven't used video servers in a while don't know if anything has change Hope this helps, please let me know if you got it to work regards

hi fit analogue cams to digital dvr ?

Good day You will need to get a DVR that can take analog and digital (IP) cameras, Balun is used on analog cams when you are using cat5/cat6 (network cable) with your installation, IP cameras use a normal network connection with RJ45 connectors,a switch and POE for power (easiest) , I would suggest a Hybrid or tribrid DVR , eg: the 4 or 5 series Dahua DVR's : DH-HAC4108C-S3 (not sure whats available in the uk) Please let me know if you need any more info Regards
  7. good day What you need to do is check what is the PTZ protocol, baud-rate and address is, usually when it starts up it will give you this information, then see what your existing PTZ is set to and set them the same making sure that each cam has its own address but same baud-rate and protocol, you usually set it in the menu or on the dip switches on the PTZ consult your manual to see Regards
  8. Good day What is the complete model number and build date? Regards

Night Owl video loss and chirping

good day it sounds like your power-supply for your cameras is faulty, what power supply you got and for how many cameras? there is also a possibility of a short on your cam #4, perhaps polarity is incorrect (your positive and negative) , your cameras flicking and going off around 8 is probably when the IR lights come on IR uses more amps thus the reason they go off at that time,so your psu is giving 12v but perhaps not enough amps, the dvr must have a alarm out function under the video loss event that's why it alarms ( chirps ), Try just connecting #4 and see if it comes on , check polarity and try another PSU with same or higher amp rating Regards

    Power supply for CCTV

Good day We usually recommend 1Amp per camera depending on the amount of cams and cable length's, it does sound like your PSU is faulty, for 8 cams you can use a 12v 10AMP psu which does look similar to the one you have posted, you just need to check the specs, also check the polarity of that camera make sure your positive is on positive and negative on negative, if they are the wrong way around you can get that ticking noise Regards

    CCTV storage design without NVR

Good day You can use an embedded IP storage server, however it is better to have a NVR to manage your cams, its also more cost effective http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/evs5000-858.html To display on multiple screens you need to use a matrix controller/ box http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/m30-453.html Hope this helps Regards
  14. Hi Try connecting just one camera to the DVR ,also what PSU you using? try only connecting one camera to power, lastly what cable you using? regards
  15. Hi What is the resolution and bit-rate set to on the cameras? are you using gigabit switches? what model NVR are you using, whats the maximum MB/s the NVR can handle? Regards

Remotely viewing DVR / IP cameras

Good day To use internet explorer you need to forward the HTTP port on your DVR, under the network settings you will see all the ports , check which is your http (normally its port 80) and forward that, then check on www.conyouseeme.org if its open Regards
  17. Hi Itaishi I emailed someone from Dahua and he sent me firmware links. Most of the units are working now. What is your email then ill forward it to you Regards
  18. Hi can you post a snapshot of what you are getting, also is the area dark enough so that it goes black and white? Regards
  19. Hi What Power supply are you using? how many amps does your PSU push out? sounds like a power problem at night when the IR kicks in it pulls more amps from the power supply, test by only powering one camera at night and see if there is any difference Regards

Need help for CCTV settings for max storage

Good day I wouldn't drop the quality to CIF , D1 is a low recording resolution as it is, try setting your schedule to motion recording, drop your frame rate to 12 and you bit rate to medium, try setting your motion area as-well, this will make sure you are not recording a bush blowing in the wind, hope this helps Regards

  24. Hi Guys Anyone else experiencing a problem on the old Dahua CIF/D1 machines were the email function just stopped working, all my customers have the same problem started about a month ago, I know its old DVR's and my recommendation is to upgrade to HDCVI but not all of my customers have the money to upgrade, all the new DVR's work 100% with the same settings, my guess its probably a security upgrade on the email servers that the older models firmware doesn't support, but that's just speculating. I have tried 5 different smtp servers and all does the same on the older models, all work on the newer models. If anyone has got a older cif/D1 model can you test for me ? please PM me if you need any assistance doing the setup any help will be appreciated Regards
  25. Update : Looks like all my customers using older version Dahua DVR's has all the same problem, email just stopped working, anyone else have this same issue, on the newer DVR's no problem Regards
