Hikvision Camera's not connecting to NVR after Firmware upd
topchips replied to fabzster's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi there It seems like compatibility issues or a unstable firmware on both sides NVR and Cam, try getting compatible/stable build date versions of the firmware or try updating the firmware again. there is a saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" I think this should of applied here Regards -
ECL-578 Compact Outdoor Super Bullet Cam + OSD (Image Query)
topchips replied to Threezzzs's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi There What is the Lens you are using in the cam? on the OSD you are using the digital zoom which is not recommended as it pixelates and stretches your picture, using the correct lens will help, the average lens is a 3.6mm on a 1/3" sensor then you pic will just start to curve, sounds to me you have a very wide angle lens installed, see attached pic for example Regards -
Hikvision not recording to PC when scheduled
topchips replied to philly0128's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi have you set the recording settings on the camera self to match your PC NVR settings? Try using a Standalone NVR works much better Regards -
Hi What is your recording resolution on your DVR? if you are using CIF or D1 then yes the camera resolution is higher than what your DVR can record however 1000tvl is better than 540tvl but is it a CCD or CMOS chip, and what brand (eg) sony or sharp all these are factors that will give a 1000tvl camera better or less picture quality Regards

Need help on HD-CVI system
topchips replied to ricreis394's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi What is the Amp-age of that power supply? and can you adjust the voltage? use a seperate power supply to power the cameras, power the recorder with its own power supply that its supplied with, if you are using good RG59 with power (siamese) you will be able to get 300m video with power no problem, I use a 12v 10amp PSU and adjust the voltage to 13.2V and get 300m. for long distance runs use 8 cams max on 1x 10amp psu for more cams use a second psu -

connect the cam wirelessy to your router then connect router via cable to NVR, or you can use a wi-fi repeater -
Four Channel DVR Question. Help Please
topchips replied to PacificRim's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi Do you have a standalone DVR or PC based?, PC based you could add another DVR card, standalone you will need to get a bigger channel DVR, you could get a quad processor (a device that can take upto 8 cams and split them onto 1 monitor) then you could put multiple cams on 1 channel on the dvr , but this is not recommended, rather go out and get a descent 8 CH DVR which can be networked so you can use the CMS software to view it on the PC -
motion detection, pixels or PIR
topchips replied to peterdewolf's topic in General Digital Discussion
The Motion detection is controlled by the recorder, it works on pixelation to pixelation movement so not as accurate as a PIR, you should be able to set areas and sensitivity of motion on your recorder to get it a little more accurate -
Need help on HD-CVI system
topchips replied to ricreis394's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi - Since I need for a maximum of 200m between each camera to the recorder, I don't know how much is the limit of the cable to not lose image quality.: >The maximum transmission distance for HDCVI is 800m - How do I choose a good cable? I think there could be a cheap cable that is not much stronger than another more high in price, right?: >You will need to look for solid copper core cable that is the best, having good quality cable is always important especially if you want to go 200m,cheaper cable is usually poor quality cable - With this equipment the only way and the recommended way is to connect with RG-59 with BNC connectors? (I say this because I already saw people talking about UTP cable for this systems): >RG-59 with BNC connectors is recommended, however I have used CAT5 cable (UTP) and it works got over 300m, it is important to use good quality Baluns. - Where should I put the power supply? Probably It'll be complicated to put the supply near the cameras, can I send the power via the same cable as video (RG-59)? or probably using the siamese cable. >You can put the PSU by the Recorder, you will then need to use siamese cable, once again must be good quality to send the video and power 200m, you will also need a high ampage PSU (power supply), I mostly use a 12V 10 Amp PSU with a 18 way distribution board, build into a lockable casing, it can adjust the voltage from 10v - 15v brilliant for those long distance runs Hope this helps -
Good day what you will need is a VGA to Video converter to covert the image from the pc to the monitor into video which can then be connected to the DVR, you will need a 16 ch DVR if you want to connect 8 PC's and 6 Cams as 1 screen takes 1 channel on the DVR, hope this helps

Connecting to my home DVR via Wifi
topchips replied to SRTCCTV's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi When on local WIFI just use the local ip address of the DVR as your IP/Domain Regards -
Hi Is your ip address on the DVR in the same range as your Router?can you see your DVR locally? are you using the correct ports, the ones that are allocated on the DVR network setting? if all are correct check your default gateway setting on your DVR and make sure that is correct, the wrong gateway can cause your ports not to forward, you could also try the DMZ setting on the router just add the DVR's ip and it should allow all ports through Regards

DVR remote viewing stops. Not a dynamic ip issue.
topchips replied to neospc's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi How many routers in this setup and are they wi-fi enabled? are all the DVRS connected on the same network? are you using a automatic dyn updater tool? you say the DVR's go down, is the local network also affected? can you log into the DVR's locally, just a thought but it could be a simple IP conflict, when someone gets home and there phone connects to the router, it could cause the network to drop, I had a similar problem and found that whenever my customer got home the DVR would drop, have you set the router up to exclude the DVR's IP address? If its not a IP conflict then I would speak to the ISP and see if they can get any info from there side just make sure your local network is running correctly first, cause that will be the first thing they will ask. hope this helps Regards -
Hi what people will recommend will probably come down to personal choice or preference, however there are things you will need to look for like recording capabilities, bandwidth capabilities, after sales support and user friendliness. I would recommended the DAHUA DH-NVR4216 with a separate POE switch like a TP-Link or Planet, here is a link to the spec: http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/nvr4204420842164232-638.html . for me this little unit is well priced and packs a really impressive punch with its capabilities, Max 200Mbps incoming bandwidth and Up to 5Mp resolution preview&playback, I have personally tested this unit with 16X 3MP DAHUA Ip cams running at 15 FPS with 6144KB/S bit rate no issues, I am sure you can run this unit at 25 FPS by dropping the bit rate to 4096KB/S, I would recommended also using the same brand IP cams as your NVR,as they will just work allot better together, domes or bullets just come down to personal choice, I usually go domes indoor, bullets outdoor. regards

Is there a BETTER app out there to use with my system?
topchips replied to sandman512's topic in General Digital Discussion
usually the apps/software that comes with the DVR is the best to use, 3rd party software can be a real pain but if your not happy the only real way is to download and test to see how compatible your DVR is to other apps/software regards -
Hi there is this a PC based or standalone DVR? can you see the last 4 channels on the screen but its not showing picture? is there a license required to view the cams? do you have a snap shot of what your getting?, a little more information would help. Regards
