What dvr you working with? Try pressing menu button or menu+enter on dvr when in full screen on ptz view. Sometime its under the camera setting in the dvr configure screen.

well I know GV works on 7 but never saw it working on 8. their web site doesn't mention support for 8 either that's what makes me think it won't work.

ill put my money on overheating. try to bypass the thermostat in the housing so the fan always works see if it helps. or bring it indoors for a day to test.

its a PTZ camera you will need to connect it to your DVR RS485 port. when you power it up it should write on the screen the exact protocol its set on and the baud rate which you will need set up your DVR the same.

actually I'm not too sure now. My home DVR is 16ch 1480 and the version info says (IP 32). sorry for the wrong info

interesting. an acquaintance of mine has a yacht maintenance company down here and they use 3G to monitor real time the subscribers boats. maybe here is possible cause most of them stay in the area and go to Bahamas max.

I'm not familiar with this specific vivotek but installed other vivotek (dome/bullets) and many axis-214 axis is much more developed and out there when in comes to IP cameras. if you can afford it you won't be disappointed. they have some demos online but the image size is reduced most of the time for demos. http://www.axis.com/solutions/video/gallery.htm

I have more then 3 months worth screenshots (320x240) from 16 channels system and one 5MP cam screenshots. I just set up today a sync for the actual .avi files for the geovision system solo I'll post the results as soon as it clears a bit -
I would send it to bosch have them fix it properly. anyway my guess is you going to transfer cost to client. too fancy cam to fuck it up worse.

any cctv installer guy should be able to set this up for you. alarm only people are not too familiar with ports and routing etc. we set any unit for home owners for ~200.

I'm using amazon S3 for remote backup. I don't sync video, just screenshot of my motion triggered images. the dvr bucket is maybe ~10-15$/month always good to have remote backup imo. -
post a link to this DVR specs/site will help Some DVRs will let you choose which cameras are available for each user. cheap costco dvrs will not have this feature afaik. try adding a new user on the DVR itself and see if it give you the option.

IMHO this is the order you should go: Axis Vivo D-link def better image with axis.

(Webcam server from network icon) Server Setup > Video tab > Max Image Size= Actual size
-
nope that will exceed your 16 cams limit for single card. the other system (2x1480) has 32 cams.

what makes you think it will work on win 8?
-
ethernet uses only 2 pairs, if you use POE the other 2 pairs are uses for poe. it's not recommended to send 24vac and data on same line. it will probably work but def not the right way to do it. you can get not-too-pricey POE injector and put it near the camera. that model you have there supports POE so that would be my personall preference if I were you.

Q-See QT 528 cannot port forward cannot remote view
sinbad replied to BlackDiamond's topic in Computers/Networking
if you can access the DVR locally in the LAN and the DVR loads up your problem is with your port forwarding. check this how to config your router http://www.manualowl.com/m/Netgear/WNDR3400v1/Manual/220076?page=87 once completed both needed ports go to canyouseeme.org and check if the port forward worked. also make sure your other network setting on the DVR are correct, Subnet and gateway. (255.255.255.0/192.168.1.x) if these are missing the router will have problems forwarding the requests. -
does a 'brick housing' exist?
sinbad replied to ljarrald's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
check out http://emi-america.com/literature.html in their catalog bonch of housing might find something that will fancy your idea. -
what does your windows log says? That will be where you will find the exact reason. my guess is one of your RAM sticks is bad if it only crashes on high activity. also try putting page file on another partition than your OS install. but again before you start swapping hardware learn how to use the event log to find your problem.
