for sure if you can hardwire the system do it !
-
I was talking broadcast quality MPEG . not joe internet. I'm also an `ex`Satellite tech for a large Telco. An E1 uplink would be 1 trillion dollars here !
-
ah theres no doing that on the cheap or using bits, you will need proper equipment. @600m you will need directional antennas pointing at each other. [camera to WIFI repeater then to dvr/laptop in the house] If you dont use a repeater in the house your results will be poor as the laptop is a big variable . having a stable link [camera to repeater] will fix that. the home owner will have a good signal all the time. -into the repeater. @30m if the gate IP camera is only 30m you could put a directional antenna up high pointing at the house. that will give good coverage. I have done this at some farms and sheds. its cheap and works well.

depends on the distance ? and whats in the way ? can you mount them high ?

some are called color night cameras. but its really hard to find a good one. Many of them slow the shutter right down to achieve this -very bogus. oh Minitron have some good stuff others have poor sensors they kill the colour and call em night cams -ARGHH most of the name brands have some good cams that go down to 1 lux or so in color -bosch etc etc

swann =low end really low end [not quite rubbish] buy some real cameras !
-
that`s easy to fix just add a high gain WIFI antenna to one side or both. Amps are usually unnecessary and expensive. -rarely used in pro-setups spend $50 on a 20db gridpack and bamm you`ll have a great picture\strong WIFI signal

Axis droping prices!!!

they need to work on their low light capability more. dropping the shutter does not cut it. -
must be blocked in Australia ?
-
sats are expensive and slow and latency ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh big bucks to send video up -and big antenna whats it for news ?
-
I was thinking underground car park for some reason :-/ you will need the WIFI units in bridge mode. the camera hooked into the AP. 600foot away you are better off with high gain antennas pointing at each other. -one on the camera side [say 12db+ directional yagi/patch etc] -and a high gain omni at the AP /DVR end. [if you are using multiple cameras] Repeaters wont be too flash with IP video -you want the least amount of "hops" in the system. and the cost doubles. z

CAN YOU SOLVE THIS PROBLEM? -NEW SYSTEM INTERGRATED INTO OLD
zmxtech replied to Delta 1's topic in General Digital Discussion
After 10 years all the cams will have nasty burn in -Replace the lot ! CAT5 10 years ago ? don't think so. Time for a new system why waste any time with this old dinosaur. Some people like vintage cars I guess Give me IP cams and a ray gun any day ! -
that link and the DNS name are dead ? I think I paid my bill....

OH NO! AXIS 207MW Lens assembly has come apart...
zmxtech replied to cctvnewbie's topic in General Digital Discussion
IF you have a spare "hot mirror"/IR filter it will work. there is space in there for it ! I actually converted a 206 to full IR with a 16mm lens works great ! z -
Pole Mounted camera with issues when pole light comes on
zmxtech replied to protecvideo's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
sounds like you need a Video isolation transformer. or maybe try a cat5 balun system If all else fails wireless or fiber will fix it > If proper grounding wont fix it. -
Axis droping prices!!!
zmxtech replied to thewireguys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
bang on Rob ! 1x Axis is the cost of 3 Acti ! -
Acti, Arecont, Extreme oh sorry Bosch ..... mobitix "Avigil---something" cant remember have not done there expensive training ! I hear if you put 24v on a 12v Ebay camera they work twice as good ! but seriously... its really dependent on the situation and budget. One IP camera here costs $700 does a great job but the $700 also buys a cheap 4 cam and DVR system that most retailers go for then they wonder why why cant get a clear picture... The best depends on many factors day night -both ? fast moving targets -number plates ? dark night clubs ? gaming table? where vs camera makes more sense ! I concur Axis is a good all rounder -but if its for night do your research

Wireless IP cameras
zmxtech replied to Rio_Grande's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
yep Axis is your best bet. If you want to go further do it at the WAP end with an external directional antenna. I wound not use 900/1200/2400/5800 Mhz Analog cameras as they are insecure >everyone in a 100 foot radius can watch ! And the interference potential is huge It seems most WIFi links fail because people don't know what there doing ! Please Axis for Xmas can I have a SMA connector on all new cameras ..... -
Panasonic Network Cameras and Infrared Illuminators?
zmxtech replied to pyromaster114's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
what camera model ? Infrared illuminators wont work with every camera because of the hot mirror/IR filter they use that stops the massive IR blast from the sun effecting the picture during the day. Good IR cameras usually have an 'IR cut filter' on the unit to access the CCD`s IR capability. [day-night] its removed mechanically at night. IR illumination does not suit everyone. It gets a bad wrap from Ebay rubbish cameras. And hacks. When done properly its very good providing clear Identification. -
there is a camera that is good in smoke, Mobitix have a anti haze type feature and it works really well. they use them in foundrys etc M12 again ! z

OH NO! AXIS 207MW Lens assembly has come apart...
zmxtech replied to cctvnewbie's topic in General Digital Discussion
they use board lenses you just need to make a holder -hit the lathe. I did notice the Axis lenses have heavy IR filtering\coatings built in. A normal board lens will work if you replace it but the color balance will go nuts. so yes....... might need a original
