Surveillance Laws.. Do I have to post a sign at my house..?
zmxtech replied to chr1z's topic in Security Cameras
that easy to fix some of string on the door knob..... and some duck tape... -
You would not use 8 of the same cameras you need to tailor each camera for the situation I only use Sony super HAD and EX-view for consistent results for example -front door -IR-cam wide angle [low amount of IR needed] say 4mm lens -driveway medium angle more IR needed 8mm lens -rear yard wide angle 'IR illuminator' and criss-crossed daynight cams -shed small IR cam wide angle -footpath and street >IR blaster 60 foot range and 50mm lens for close ups and Number plates If you treat area area separately you wont be buying cameras again

stranded 59 will only work for a while then break, You need make up a flexible "100 strand wire"+ type coupling [this wire type is super flexy will last for years] 2 wires for power +- 12vdc 2 wires for video >balun. to another balun Then the conduit can be very small my 2c -

hi folks... Does anyone know how to manually set the shutter ? the faster frame rate option seems to but I need around 1/1000 sec for car captures etc z
-
you should add some microwave long distance perimeter detection. because you wont have enough cams
-
how many cams ? I would think its a bad idea because of the concrete blocking the signal everywhere even if you use some high gain antennas on the router and cameras. i would test the area out first with 1 camera [for a week] the cars moving about will also do funky things to the signal. z

yes you need motion at night that's the real test. -
ahhh.... but how do they perform at night
-
looks like lens flare, do you have a strong light getting into the lens or maybe the plastic housing ? z
-
Some real world experience > The AXIS 206 are useless after dark the BW image looks ok till you see how much blur there is when there is motion ! Try and get a face shot forget it I modified one with a new "IR" lens and used a IR spot light [850nm] the result a much better but still useless. There may be a way of turning up the shutter to 500+ but have not found it You get what you pay for. /sales brochures lie ! oh and while im at it -the pelco spectra "color night" again useless at night ! ahhhhhhhhhhh
-
the device you circled looks like the inductor that would run the PWM to the IR LEDS costs a $1 but would cost $50 to $100 in labor to fix. And finding someone who knows cameras even harder. z
-
For consumer use -your house & driveway etc it's better to have a dull glow it makes the 'crims stop and think >then keep walking past ! If you have covert 950nm they will try to get in your car etc because they think they are not being watched. I have countless stills to prove it !

could be on the supply but that looks like its induced, Running Coax will fix that also.

what's the different between Unicast and Multicast ?
zmxtech replied to zq_ragile's topic in Security Cameras
multi is to many -like if you wanted everyone to view your web cam . most routers will kill it tho z
