    stopping wireless signal????

snip the antenna off ! -tho some signal might leak out put you wifi channels up high and the cams freq low for max distance between or just get some real cams -99% of wireless cams are rubbish !

    PAL Camera Question

PAL signals are analog, nothing to do with VGA. if you view a NTSC signal on a PAL system it will have no color as the CB freq is different as are the lines. most TVs etc auto switch these days yes you can buy converters but the DVR might work anyway ? check first some cams can switch also. PAL cams dont need to be 'synced' unless your trapped in 1960 z

    help

BNC is the video connector. outer is ground -inner video. 3g here works on 850 and 2112 mhz it might interfere with wireless for sure GSM does on 950mhz + As does wifi on 2.4 and 5.8 puts horizontal lines across the picture you need good shielding and ferrite cores clamped across any long cable runs. make sure the video level is correct. when its happening un-plug each camera in turn to find out which one is picking up the RF goo z

    Flaring

yes it should match up, but don't get suckered into some mega watt IR unit you need an even spread like the extreme ones or cantronics have to bring the IR level right up everywhere [a spotlight will be useless] >the sanyo has a IR lens [4-9mm] and mechanical IR cut filter z

    Counter Measures - Security Cam

Are they trying to steal a large diamond ? Call IMF and tell them to bugger off. >might be James bond tho....? jokes aside, not much on that cam as a laser pointer is broad spectrum and goes into the IR region so a cut filter wont help [unless you use just a green filter] that will work and kill off red/IR What you need is a second camera [hidden if possible] And one at the choke points to get face shots before they even get to the area my 2c

    Flaring

Had the same problem with sanyo D-N cams, you just need to get the IR lighting level up -then the camera will adjust the gain . -cars would drive past and just the brake lights would flare like crazy. After a large IR unit [30deg -850nm] fixed it. -but watch out you can have too much IR ,needs to be adjusted now I have another problem the IR to color switchover take 10 seconds ! [when the security lights turn on] z

    Day/night PTZ RF Controlled

Ebay does sell a few RF remote PTZ cams but quality mmmmm unknown
  10. hi folks, Im after any comments & ideas on DVR`s or software that is hybrid [iP/analog] and has good motion detection. Want to grab cars up to about 60kph , any cameras D/N that excel also ? A total IP solution would be nice , with a D/N IP cam & say 16mm lens z

    Advice setting up system

If it has to be totally covert use 950nm IR , but 850nm might be ok from a big distance, will be tricky to get the IR spot just right. If you can do the IR at the scene it would be better. even better again to send the picture via RF to your dvr. then you dont need fancy IR spots and cams I tested a sanyo D/N vcc-4594P with a old computar 6-48mm lens and during the day it's fine but no good at night even with a IR spot Dont forget to get IR rated lenses ! -and cams Good companies will demo a setup for you -at night Its going to cost to get something that works z
  12. Also you can get a hair dryer and do the inside of the case to dry up any water. Lots of cams have nitrogen inside also. z

    Advice setting up system

For $2k you can have 4 cams a couple as overview and some ones zoomed in say a 6-60mm lens, having the same scene on 2 cams works well one a color other D/N or even a hi-res B&W. one will always get a good shot z

    Glare from lights ruining picture...

I have the same problem [sanyo 4594] great pictures till a car goes past and Bam! there is too much IR it flares badly. [these cams have IR cut filter motor] and IR 3-8mm lens Might have to adjust the gain etc with a car nearby as a benchmark The other problem is when the security lights turn on the whole picture flares for a few seconds losing the "perp" then about 5 seconds later the camera switches to color and no filter -this is also wayyyy to slow and misses the perp again. It will take some time to get it just right.

    Blurry edges with 60mm lens...

If its and old lens or normal one it might not be good for IR ? I have two really great 75 and 100m zoom lens's that are no good for IR ! not on purpose -they just dont have all the new fancy IR stuff etc... You really need to get a IR lens for sure otherwise the filter will be just dropping the light level. I think most No plate cams work at 950nM not 850 there is a big difference in performance. tho you should get something ok with what you have. z
  18. to fix it get a DN camera and a IR flood that is at least a few metres away. up high. window tint may reflect back into the lens /be seen from a distance ? depends on the lens shrouding.... z
  19. on my $99 'el cheapo cam I did cover up most of the LEDs with tape I think there was 1 left -that was bright enough to light up 10m in front and not white out the picture] -yep return the cam If you can -and get a real one !

    What Should I Expect?

just been playing with some sanyo's DN cams and they will see fine with streetlight lighting there will be noise but its not too bad. IR illumination will make a big difference. ! Setting are a trial and error /experience thing ..... Having no IR illumination the motion detection software I have was not working well, IR lighting fixed it. Go for a wide angle IR flood, the sanyo DN cams are very IR sensitive, two angles if you have the $$$ Z
  21. I have had this problem with many IR cams that dont have a mix of different angle IR leds and IR power control like the extreme stuff has. What you want a nice even spread -and be able to vary the power of the IR to suit . The other problem is total white-out when something gets to close to the spot. My cheap $99 "test" cam blasts IR so much it's unusable -but then it makes for a good IR spotlight for my sanyo DN [real] camera. They boasted that it will do 20m -it actually goes 50m + across the street lights up the next factory and you cant see anything 10m in front everything is whited out -very silly ! People selling IR cams seem to boast on how far a camera can throw its IR light -this is BAD you need to be able to control the spread and power. External IR illumination always wins over internal -there are some exceptions like extreme and cantronics etc... The internal IR led type [like bullet cams] pick up [flare-up] dust, rain, insects and fog that degrade a good picture. [because its to close to the lens] my 2c
  22. would like to see the video grabs -pics with and with the IR lamp on, I think someone said the lens's that come with the 207 are "IR poor" and you can replace them with a normal "IR passing" one with good results but they use a shim not screw in? [aghhh!]
  23. you need to look at the error log on the AP and see what is causing it. ie: a cisco 1231 AP would be sh diag ---- or show log etc might have to telnet or serial cable to get there. z
  24. hi folks, Has anyone used the teleye bullet sf389 it has a mechanical IR cut filter specs look great ! Tho im having trouble trying/buying to get them in Australia specs> * Resolution: 540 TVL * Aspherical IR lens, 3.8mm-9.5mm lens * 15 IR LEDs, ~20m IR Range * 0.13 Lux / F1.3 (IR OFF) * 0.0 Lux (ON & IR filter removed) * IP67 Weather Proof Standard z
