Whether DSP can used in Wireless Video intercoms ?

DSP will cost way to much for this simple application. re-design the RF front end, limit the IF bandwidth and change to 5.8ghz ISM oh and those black antennas sticking out -yuck make them internal maybe add a few IR leds to help in low light -and use a good sony HAD sensor my 2c z

    covert external motion detector

PIR`s wont be covert, you might need to point a microwave sensor through the wall or plaster etc. maybe even a "smoke detector" with a PIR inside with the LED disabled. and a SSR solid state relay z

    Camera Theft

yes I agree, another one hidden or overlooking the other. Another trick is to hide the cables and add a "fake" loop of cable under a camera for the bad guys to cut. [connected to the alarm] A fake easy to get to camera can be done to -if you have problems. with pin hole cams inside looking left and right. my 2c z
  14. mik mic major cause -The jokers that sell quantity over quality, Its all good tho it gives the customers taste of surveillance cheaply but in the long run those customers will have an incident and those cameras will fail badly poor images etc. then they will come looking for a `real` camera or system. z

    axis 207 series lens

hi folks I have a question on the axis 207 series -can the lens be replaced with a larger "zoom"? say 8 or 12 mm to get tighter shots z
  17. you might need to flood the area with IR to bring up the picture. In most cases it's a big help. z
  18. you can add a router to join both networks together, then you can control the bandwidth to the desktops if you like and access list etc also a gateway to ADSL\the net z

    wireless camera about 100 mtres

You should not use 2.4 analog for a pro install. A 2.4Ghz encrypted WIFI cam or a IP cam and WIFI link for 100m I would use at least one high gain antenna so you get max throughput. I would go for a IP cam 2mp or so and the link 5ghz WIFI 54MB WPA [802.11a] z
  23. VLAN it easy fix We normally run 2 VLANs one for data and one for voice, you could add a third for cams but if you had many might need a dedicated network switch Big enterprise systems run separate security networks I see anyway. z

    Outdoor, long range, night camera

A big fat IR illuminator would fix the problem. then you could ID the deer etc you would have a clearer picture less noise etc tho there is a lot of light down there maybe better camera angle to miss the lights. or even change them to a down light type to stop direct light at the camera. the best option would be a camera near the lights on a pole z

    IP vs Analog

analog "wireless" works ok but encryption is really expensive -unless you want it seen. You can digitize it of course. Digital [iP] is a easy to encrypt and free also a mature system. you dont really need a switch you could use a POE injector .anyway you can get a switch for $50 they are cheap. IP is is new in the security world but 20 years old in reality I would go for IP its more future proof and flexible and you can hook it to your existing network. analog for cheapness for sure my 2c z
