Looking for Installation Tutorial
zmxtech replied to hammouda's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
this my interest you search on this its 20Mb in size! Butterworth.Heinemann.CCTV.Surveillance.Video.Practices.and.Technology.2nd.Edition.Dec.2006.pdf z -
you can also block off-turnoff 3/4 of the IR leds because you don't need mega watts in there. my driveway cam has 25 leds I use about 5 for perfect contrast Its all about varying the power so you don't get white out etc z

thats far ! I would be putting a TDR on it to check everythings ok then do a NEXT check. -should be part of the commissioning really. active for sure...

is this an impossible system ?
zmxtech replied to metafizx's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
your no plate cam should not be wide-angle but just the width of your driveway from any distance . A wide angle overview cam also -throw in some IR to light the plates up and for night use. 54G wifi link should handle your camera. I would suggest a high gain antenna pointing at your shed as WIFI drops the speed down to 1Mb or so if you have poor signal. [you could use pre-N WIFI also] small 2.4Ghz 12DBi pane should do it. no benefit for 5ghz unless you have interference or want to be more stealthy but running WPA\AES encryption will be fine. my 2c -
I have been playing the axis's "camera station one" single IP -DVR and its free, not bad http://www.axis.com/techsup/software/index.htm you have to register tho -takes a minute my only complaint is interlacing on hi-res ? mmmm thought my 2130 was progressive looking into it ;-} my 2c

zmxtech replied to photys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I use a 2130 and use Axis's free 1 camera dvr software and use a mapped drive to the nas but you can ftp -i'll check tomorrow 4u -
you could use a mix of 1.2/2.4/5.8/10ghz units with "very" directional antennas to cut down on interference like 10 to 20db panel types. Also most of the bands have 1000`s of channels NOT 3! -its just the manufacturer being scabby. other units I have seen have 10+channels I would look at IP cams then its all easy. > say a hanger has 10 IP cams they all got to a POE switch like a CISCO cat2924 and the uplink via fibre to your main hub or a WIFI link if you cant cut the ground etc. [directional antennas on the WIFI also] sounds like fun...

but remember ! 1.2Ghz and 2.4Ghz are VERY common, rory is correct unless you want to broadcast over the "TV sender" band Even 5.8 is dodgy unless its got video inversion etc etc but it has a few years to catch up. z

Anyone know how to automatically create composite images?
zmxtech replied to SureVeillance's topic in System Design
the cameras in the wrong spot ! -its pointed at the grass If it was on the path on the right you would have a nice head shot ? never heard of composite shot "tool" its complex if it was a car you would not have space -its only used as an effect ? You can overlay the images like a movie tho . z -
you could always setup a encrypted WIFI pipe say a PreN type -will give good performance and you can remote desktop or use VNC etc. -that goes of any IP cam also my 2c

Questions about powering CCTV cameras in vehicle
zmxtech replied to Maxima's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
for sure, there are heaps of dual bat systems for 4x4/RVs , you could also install a low voltage cut-out so it wont kill the battery these gadgets disconnect your device if it drops to 10v etc etc... -
Car being vandalised, advice on recording the criminals?
zmxtech replied to carcarcarcarcar's topic in General Digital Discussion
-you need to deter them! a picture of them doing something bad at 3 in the morning is not really useful the police could not care less. [for hunting them down yourself yes] I would go for a 1000w sensor light -light the area up with 1000s of watts of light it may just light your car up so they can see what to steal tho but will give your camera a good shot -Black n white IR is ok but colour better Once I put a microwave sensor in the bumper of my 4x4 so at night it would put the brake lights on for 10 seconds -IF they are 30 feet away they will think you are around. my 2c -

I would be upgrading your cars battery to a larger one. so it will keep going over night with no problems. These car batterys are rated in 1000`s of "AMP hours" easy to work out if you drawing 1amp [not to be confused with CCA] most car bats are not 12v but 13.8 or 14.2 when charging so make sure you use a regulator -most cams/dvrs have them anyway. guess you could link the dvrs quad to a wireless transmitter and watch from your lounge ! m -
put a current meter on each cam sounds like one of them is drawing to much -I have had this problem before. z

just one descent thermal camera at a high spot could detect people and cars for the whole 14km with some ptz cams and IR lighting spaced at 1km or so to ID problems. Maybe use 14 IR beams to cut down any false alarms and to select the right camera just an idea ....

Dome cameras for a nightclub - specifications?
zmxtech replied to photys's topic in Security Cameras
get yourself a lux meter they start at $50 Everyone seems to be giving IR Illumination a bad wrap on domes etc you need to adjust the them to stop bleed and control the power level a dome like the EX40 is amazing if you set it up right. crisp clear pics in complete darkness. this clubcam stuff mmm must be using alien technology -or sony ex-views ? Z -
just buy an IR spotlight and put the cam inside with a rubber or foam gasket to stop bleed. there are many that will fit and have a clear glass front. z
