Hello
I have an 8 channel video surveillance system, and the DVR comes with a standard RJ45 port and 3 USB ports. One of the USB ports supports a WiFi-USB Stick, but my problem is, that it doesn't work with all the WiFi USB sticks, but a specific one which i have to purchase additionally from the supplier.
So my question is, Is there a way for me to install the drivers of another WiFi-USB stick (e.g. Belkin, Atheros, etc) directly onto the DVR?
I have been able to connect to the DVR using the Ethernet port and via Telnet. The DVR runs on an embedded Linux 3.0.8 and BusyBox v.1.16.1.
The thing is, I am new to Linux and installing drivers(modules) on it, and also have no prior experience on with embedded linux.
I've browsed through the system, and I've found the already installed modules on the DVR (lsmod command), but i have no idea how, and where to install other drivers (or if at all possible).
BTW, i have already purchased a WiFi Repeater with an Ethernet port, and i will be able to connect it. I am doing this because I find the whole process it interesting. But at the same time it is Very annoying , that some vendors limit us to a very few specific WiFi-USB sticks that are ridiculously overpriced. In this case the wifi usb stick didn't cost much (~20€) but i have a smart tv, for which the vendor is asking over 100€ just for the stick. (Fu.. off)
So, has anyone done this before ?
Regards
