    POE Power Issues

Yeah I was hoping it would work, but I had a feeling it wasnt going to be that simple. I'm just going to run a few electrical wires to them and call it a day! I can wire them into the power supply I have for the other HDCVI cameras I already have installed. Thanks Jeromephone!
  2. This is my first gig where I am using HDCVI instead of ip cameras and a few of the existing cameras are powered by poe splices (I think they call these jelly connectors or something like that). Most of the cameras use siamese coax and they work fine, but 3 of them use the poe splices shown above. When I plug the ethernet into my poe switch, the switch turns off until I remove the cable. I removed all cables from it and tried one at a time to see if maybe they were overpowering the switch, but the new cameras i'm using use the same power/amps as the regular poe ip cameras I use. The switches manual says the poe pinout for power is Power+: ping 3 & ping 6 and Power-: ping 1 & ping 2 (i'm assuming ping is supposed to be pin). Here is a link to the switch manual: http://goo.gl/0P19Gj I rewired using their pinout (positive on pin 3 and 6 and negative on pin 1 and 2)... but that still caused my switch to blackout on me. From what I read, their pinout seems to be reversed from the "official" pinout. Does anyone know whats going on and why it keeps crashing my switch? I hooked 2 ip cameras to it and they worked fine, so its not the switch. Any help would be much appreciated it.

    POE Power Issues

The old system was an analog cctv system. I am replacing it with an HDCVI system which is HD over coax cabling. The analog system was using thermostat wiring at 220v and the new system is 110v... so I had to change out the power supply with a 110v one. These ethernet cables goto newer analog camera domes that were also 220v and wired with these jelly connectors. So poe wont work with this setup?
