I have a HikVision 2302 with ivms 4200 pcnvr. Everything works great except I can't get it to actually record. I've tried formatting and allocating a external usb 250GB HD. When it allocates, it fills it up with 256mb files that, as I understand it, get replaced when it records files. But then I map the path to the folder on that drive and it tells me the disk is almost full. I've tried it without allocating as well without success as well. I get an "error 29 Failed to start recording" either way. It doesn't record when the motion is triggered or manually. It will snap shots manually and save them to the directory on the external HDD.
Google and search feature brings me no information so I'm at a loss as what could be the problem.
