Hey all, Was a tech for IBM, now an electronics technologist, doing the CCTV thing. Have a few years under my belt. A couple of major projects and a few minor ones. I try and follow (as best I can) the ULC (Underwriters' Laboratory of Canada) CCTV standards document and the British Home Office, Scientific Development Branch documents on CCTV when implementing such systems in the event that the video has to go to court and inevitably contested. So far, I have found no court cases where the CCTV digital video was contested. Anyways, good to be here.

Hello, I'm trying to burn anything from my DVR to my USB burner. I've bought the proper burner from the manufacturer. As always the Panasonic instructions are horrible at best. I've read their FAQ which didn't help. Currently, I'm trying to copy a file under the 4GB that the FAQ says. When I press the copy button, do the settings and then press the "size" button, I get the size of the file I wish to copy but nothing on the size of my CD or DVD just a couple of stars ** ? Has someone done this before? Also, slightly different topic. Is there a 16ch DVR that can burn 1 hour of data in less than 1 hour? I've seen a 16k 1 channel DVR do it in 20-25mins. That's it.

Have a look at the SmartSight S1000 from Verint. It comes in 2.4Ghz, 5.4-5.8Ghz small, uses approx 0.5A and goes for about 3-4k. Encryption. Expensive for a coupla hundred feet. But if you're looking at Videocomm.... If you want cheap like a guard hut. You could always try the 900MHz to 2.4Ghz band equipment. No encryption. Cheap. Weather will probably play a factor in those, and reduce BW. Also, if your in a downtown core, try the 5.4GHZ and up. If at all possible, 250', pull a wire.

Hello, Just created an account here. From my experience, the 20"American Dynamics LCD is the way to go. Model ADMNLCD20. It offers all the the normal CCTV monitor configurations, loop through, BNC, RCA, S-Video, PC connectors and happens to be the clearest one I've tried. It's also the best one for PTZ control. Very near the quality of a good CRT. It goes for about $1,000.00 CDN. Expensive compared to normal LCDs but blows the doors off of the other CCTV LCDs like marshall and totevision. This reference is only for the 20"LCD. Apparently the other models aren't as good. I've also tried the larger LCDs. I wouldn't use them unless you're doing a large command center or possibly using the PC interface and not he RCA or BNC.
