Does anyone know how to record a video stream being broadcast over the internet using software rather than a DVR? We have installed a video system broadcasting from an IP address. I can view the feed, and theoretically I can record it using a connected DVR. However, getting information off of the DVR is very difficult. We would better off if we could simply use some software to record the stream into electronic files. Recording onto a PC might work, but if I could put it onto a server that would be best. Storing large quantities of data is not an issue.
Currently, I can view the feed using an application called vmeye, but the versions that I have see do not have a recording capability. Please help.
