    GV-800 System Restarting

Hi Computer Guy. Geovision systems are designed to shut down and restart if a camera signal is missing. You can disable any cameras/channels you are not using. In the main application, go to the configure button, then "Camera / Audio install" Limit port to 5 - or however many cameras you have.

jisaacmagee, you tease Camera and recording device details please.
  3. Im moving from OEM to brandname cameras. I was thinking Bosch, but my market wont pay. I heard Samung Techwin got it right on some cams, wrong on others. So, any thoughts on the following? SDC-415 - for general usage (well known body cam, good bang for the buck I hear). SDN-550 - for a starter day/night with IR cut filter. SID-450 - for an indoor dome. SVD-4300 - for an IP66 outdoor dome. SVD-4120 - for an IP66 outdoor dome with WDR.
  4. Thanks antdickens. Just what i needed. I appreciate the reply.

    CCTV CONTEST!

Lets start it easy Whats the fewest amount of cameras you can use to cover every square inch of the outside of a flatscreen Monitor.
  6. I would rather learn correct lighting, before I change cameras. It is pointless me buying $1000 cams before I understand practical lighting techniques. I´m having the typical problem in low light scenarios. Bleached out subjects moving toward the camera. Looks great when they fill 60% of the image or when they stop moving...... So Im about to try a 2 bulb solution. Each slightly off set, with less light hitting the person/car, more on the distant background. Evening out the range of light. Is that the way to go? Can you point me in the right direction please. Cheers, photys.
  7. Thanks CollinR. That has really helped the quality of my images.
  8. Hey jsavchak. How did it work out?
  9. Thanks zmxtech, spytown. Its people like me using cheap built-in IR cams that gives it a bad name. Looking into clubcam and adjustable IR. Cheers.
  10. Positive and negative comments welcome
  11. Thank you Mek0n. As answers go, I doesnt get much better. I love the internet, im 2000 miles from that company and someone local is here with an answer
  12. Has anyone dealt with Pro-Vision Distribution in the UK? provision-cctv.com Was about to place an order, but thought I would check it out with you guys first.
  13. Recording locally with no NVR? It this viable? Outline: Four different locations. 2 Axis 207 cams per location. 1 QOS router per location. 1 NAS (network attached storage) per location. I want to record locally to an NAS or similar. Draw recorded images from the NAS over the internet. Looking at the Axis GUI, I see the following in Event settngs: "triggered by" - "motion detection" - "when triggered" - "Upload images/video". Which in theory could save to the NAS. But would the client softwear know where to find the NAS If its viable, What softwear do you recommend. What NAS do you recommend. Thanks for your time, photys.
  14. Thanks zmxtech. I appreciate you taking the time to check.
  15. Cheers Rory. I didnt think they were dealer prices, just prices from the internet. But I hear you. Basically an IR cut filter reduces focus shift in night images, and blocks IR from the sun and other sources in daylight images. You want a body cam in a dome housing. My example above is a single board camera with small screw in lens. Which is typical in bullets and low end domes. I imagine a mark of quality in a dome would be a proper C or CS lens. I flagged this post as I was looking for an anwer on this too. I jumped in with my limited experience as it had gone a week without reply. Bottom line, looks like the answer is no. I suppose the questions is not "Whats the best vandal proof dome for around $200-250?" but "Is there a good OEM Vandal proof dome for around $200-250?
  16. Sorry theres not been a reply jstory. The Samsung Techwin SVD-4300P is reasonably priced. But with the dollar the way that it is, it might be over budget. For under $250, I imagine you would have to use an OEM model. In my limited experience, vandal proof dome brandname cams start around $300. There is one OEM model a couple of us use. Its known under many names. 7100hir (3.8mm lens). 6100hir (4-9mm zoom lens). Both are single board, vandal resistant, weather resistant, 10m IR, 420 and 480 line models. No IR cut filter. A dodgy sample image from the 6100hir and a Geovision capture card. .................That reminds me, I really gotta focus this camera.
  17. Thank you both for the replies. I have seen some basic brandnamed NAS with built in FTP server. I may pick one up and give it a try.
  18. Im looking at the Axis 209FD-R Panasonic BB-HCM331, but cant find a housing yet. Both retail around €530. Anything else out there for that price or less?
  19. The Panasonic IP BB-HCM range measure 100x100x73. Practically a cube. Anyone found an outside/tamper proof housing for them?

Can you identify this GeoVision card?

If the numbers along the left side read 40-AEX16-100 then its the 16 channel audio card for the gv-1120 to gv-1480 series.

Vista with Multiview and remote playback

As CollinR stated. Or request the 8.1.2 download from the official geovision site and grab RemoteViewlog.zip MultiView.zip They normally reply within 24 hours. Watch the weekend though.
  22. Time to move out of OEM into Brandname cameras. I buy 8 to 16 cameras at a time. I live in a remote part of the world and flying to the UK for equipment is my best option. Looking at Bosch Flexidome ii or similar for next job. PM me please. Regards, photys.
  23. I should add, Im in the "getting over the IR dome" phase. Hope to get some hands on experience in: What scenario needs what lux rating. What light level demands B+W over colour. When I need WDR and when I dont.
  24. Solved. Geovision has added them to V8.12. Request FTP access from the official geovision site and grab RemoteViewlog.zip MultiView.zip
