  1. Hey All, First post. Already learned quite a bit browsing, but I didn't see anything that addresses a question I'm trying to answer. I'm going to be installing a 17 camera security system at a warehouse location. Two businesses share this sub-divided location. They will have two separate monitors, and (I would like) them to have two separate recording devices for their individual required feeds. 9 cameras are external. 3 are in one business. 4 are in the other. Both businesses need access to ALL 9 external cameras. I'm hoping to use all IP cameras. I'm just more familiar with them from a networking/install perspective, and the cost seems to be much lower. Also, i really hate working with siamese cable. I will be creating a third, entirely different network for these cameras. Is this just as simple as buying two recording devices, placing them on the same network, and assigning the IP addresses of each camera to that device? Also, how would the monitor situation work? I'm used to smaller scale systems, where I was able to run PoE amps on longer Cat5e runs, that terminated into a DVR style recorder, that had a monitor over a VGA out. It was really easy, really convenient, which is the MOST IMPORTANT part of this install - the end users are not tech savvy, and I just want them to be able to record and access recordings as they need (without calling me in). Any advice for this? Thanks! -B
