    Night Vision Issues

LOL got your attention didnt it...... Its ok i found out what the problem is now i just gotta work around it, i wasnt being sarcastic either when i said Cheers guys thanks for the help ill try elsewhere, your putting inflection on the sentence that wasnt there when i posted it. i was genuine in saying thanks guys for the help ill try elsewhere, because out of 100 views and nobody replying i thought well maybe nobody knows on here so ill try elsewhere anyway im not gonna justify my post anymore ill tell you what the issue was The box cameras came with a Fixed IR Cut Filter on the CCD Image sensor, and regardless of the type of lens i was using it was blocking the IR out, so ive removed it, and the colour has washed out abit during the day so ive been searching online all this morning to find a Auto IR Cut lens board attachment i found a few says they are for CMOS sensors so i guess my next question would be, would they work on a CCD Sensor. Cheers Guys Thanks for the Help

  4. Hi Guys, I have recently started installing a system around my house, i have 5 Orion Cameras and i recently brought 3 cameras on sale from Jaycar, They are Sony Hi-CAD 470TVL Day Night cameras, with interchangeable lenses, so i brought a 4mm and 2 8mm lenses, so i bring the cameras home i set them up, day image is fantastic, come night time the image is basically black, so i go out, and buy a Weather proof housing that has IR LEDs in it, and i also pickup a couple of lenses that have IR written on them, now the problem im getting is the image is still dark but i can make out the sky, and fence and cars etc. When i stand in front of the camera i can see the Red Glow from the IR lenses and on the DVR i come up bright white and visible with everything else blacked out around me, when i step out of the frame, everything goes back to being barely visible, is there a setting im not doing correctly on the switches on the camera, are the lenses incorrect, or the IR illumination on the housing just not enough to brighten up the image. the Orion Cameras night vision is really bright, visible nothing wrong with them, i was thinking buying these "so called better quality cameras" that have Day and Night would work just as well if not better, like the daytime picture on these cameras is 100% better then the other cameras and they are meant to be like 600tvl plus. any help would be greatly appreciated im hoping its just a matter of buying a couple of IR Illuminator's from Ebay or something otherwise i feel like ive wasted my money
