paranoid started following 25 fps realtime recording across 6-8 cameras ?, Testing the watchdog cable ?, Using pc speaker for warning beeps ? and and 7 others
-
Thanks, i did solve it by using the latest software. Unfortunately im now only getting a max 6 fps on each of 6 cams, im using the 4 ch extension and I should be able to get 12 fps across 8 cams. After spending all this time I now wish i had bought a geo card, but there you go - we make our choices.

Hi, Is there anyway of testing the watchdog feature with the nv5000 ? I need to know if the system will actually reboot properly if the watchdog tells it to. Thanks
-
This happens to all cameras for me, ir, non ir, bullets, housed, domed etc It seems that bugs and spiders just love anything camera shaped round here. On one of my cams I have an army of magpies, sparrows and other assorted feathered friends that visit every single day to see if there are any bugs to eat, the magpies literally attack the camera. My next attempt will be an electric wire that fries anything that comes near the cam, and probably blow the cams circuit board at the same time.

Hi all, Ive got my nv5000 running on a server system now and its all pretty good after some trouble with the aver auto driver install. I have no soundcard or onboard sound, but it still records audio from the cams which is fine for remote, backup and playback on another system, so no probs there. What I would like to do is get the pc speaker to beep for motion detection warning in the alarm setting but cant work out how. There is an official microsoft driver for 95,98 and m.e. but sadly none for xp due to its lack of integration with dos. The annoying thing is that the aver dvr software will make the pc speaker beep if i type my password wrong but I cannot get it to beep for an alarm detection. Its probably not possible but thought I would ask. On a different note, its great to have motion detection with masking again. Such an important feature which is still sadly missing from the standalone dvr's. Thanks

NV5000 No signal showing, no errors, no messages ???
paranoid replied to paranoid's topic in AverMedia
Actually i solved the issue by reinstalling and uninstalling the avermedia software several times, its all caused by the avermedia auto driver install which runs a macro on the mouse to click the windows whql warnings. This auto click install is not a good idea imho Thanks -
This may help, I have just tried switching the software to ntsc (i am pal here) and apart from the fact that it all goes monochrome and resized wrong, the picture on all 4 is 100% stable ?? Does this mean the problem is definitely the card or the cards software and not the host system ? Thanks

Hi all, I put this in another thread but it may not get noticed and i need to fix this real soon. I have the card set up and everything is working well except for the fact that all 4 cam signals are jumping vertically, I know for a fact that its not the cams, cables or connectors and I have now tried 3 different graphics cards and the problem is there all the time. I cannot find any info relating to this on avers site and am out of ideas. Can anyone help ?

NV5000 No signal showing, no errors, no messages ???
paranoid replied to paranoid's topic in AverMedia
Thanks, ive now got it running on a much older, more out of date, p4 system. Unfortunately I have vertical signal shake on all 4 cams which doesnt happen when the same cams and cables are attached to a standalone averdigi dvr ??? Any help would be great, i bought the nv5000 for its extensive search capabilities and these will be rendered pretty much useless by vertical shake on all 4 feeds. Thanks in advance -
NV5000 No signal showing, no errors, no messages ???
paranoid replied to paranoid's topic in AverMedia
Thanks for the reply. I didnt spec according to avermedia guidleines, the box is a server that was never used so I was hoping it would be ok. Im happy to solve problems, but it just a bit difficult to find out what they are. There are no recorded or live signals to view, its almost as if the card is simply not recognising that a camera has been attached to any of its inputs. The server is an acer altos g330 mk11 with an intel xeon 3ghz, im wondering if the mobo's main chipset is on avermedias 'no' list. Thanks -
Hi all, Just installed a new nv5000 on a brand new xp pro system running no other software apart from avg anti virus and win xp firewall. Everything installed without any errors or warnings but I cannot view any cameras, and i know they are all working, the dvr viewer opens as normal but there are no cameras displaying, worse is the fact that there are no errors, warnings or messages ? Could it be the onboard 32mb graphics ? There are no warnings about the graphic chip and it appears to be working fine. Any help much appreciated, its a bit difficult to know whats wrong when the dvr software tells me nothing is wrong. Thanks

Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows of a dvr or card that allows all available fps to be used by 1 cam signal, this is for a project that requires a higher frame rate than 25 fps. I seem to remeber the geo cards do this but would prefer a standalone like the avermedia etc. Thanks

Avermedia 1304 audio channel too quiet ?
paranoid replied to paranoid's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Thanks, I sorted it in the end by adding a mic preamp box, it works very well but im surprised I need a powered mic and preamp box ! -
Hi, Can anyone tell why my 2 1304 net dvrs record only the faintest sound even with a battery powered omnidirectional condenser ? Is it simply because the audio hardware in the 1304 is not much good ? Thanks

Averdigi ddns setup for public viewing
paranoid replied to paranoid's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi Scorpion and thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned im concerned about my actual pc being hacked and not really the dvr, although it would be a problem if someone erased the dvr hard disk. Its attached to my router which is also attached to my business pc's and broadband connection, I think its on port 80 and im behind a firewall. Also im not sure that ive explained properly because I want to embed a stream from 1 camera on my website so that anyone with an internet connection can view it without additional software ? I have a feeling its not possible ? Thanks -
Hi all, I need to hook up a feed from an averdigi 1304 net so that anyone anywhere can view the live stream. I have no experience of ddns and am also concerned about the possibility of having my system hacked by an online user. Can anyone make any suggestions as to how this all works ? Many thanks
