No worries, appreciate the quick reply. Looks like it will be best to replace the single core fiber with CAT6 and just run IP Cams. May awell do it properly then. Thanks

    Upgrade options

Hi guys, I have a number of Analog cameras which are connected to an Avigilon system through the use of Fiber media converters at the camera (BNC to Fiber) then to the CON which we convert back to BNC from fiber and into Avigilon encoders to connect to Avigilon NVR over IP. The Fiber is single core. Now, what are my options regarding cameras? Would HD-SDI work across this? Cheers
  3. Hi all, My current system involves the use of older analog panasonic box cameras which output via bnc connectors and converted to fiber using an S700VT-MST mini converter. These run back to the CON and they are converted back to bnc and then connected to Avigilon encoders to connect them to an Avigilon ACC5 sever. Now, I have started installing HikVision POE cameras in new areas and am thinking of upgrading the old panasonic's but am not sure which way to takle it. The fiber is a single fiber multimode with ST connector at the camera housing. I am wondering if I can upgrade them to IP cameras and use RJ45 to Fiber media converters? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
