No one has connected a Foscam before?

HI all first post and hoping I've come to the right place! I recently purchased a HIKVISION 7608 and 4 HV cameras with success installing and operating. Previous to this system I was running Foscam cameras recording to my mac. So my question is how to establish connections between my HV and Foscam 8918. I spoke to HV customer support and was to change my Foscam ip to 192.168.524.xxx but I keep getting a "illegal error". My HV NIC is 192.168.254.xxx I spoke to Foscam and was told to change the camera gateway to 192.168.254.xxx but that doesn't sound right. I've beat myself searching and searching prior to posting with no luck. If anyone has a link or can please provide me with any info I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance
