  1. Thanks. I will check that Superpassword advice and make a note of that as well! Regards.
  2. Newsflash! Have succeeded. The mistake I made was to use (lower case) when changing directory to config so make sure you all type Config (Title Case) NOT config (lower case) Bloody Chinese! Anyway the Chineese an I are friends again. Thanks for all your replies. So this chap's link on You Tube people works> REMEMBER make sure Windows on your PC has Telnet installed! Other wise nothing will work! Access it through Add Windows Programmes Menu. Click on Telnet in the options box. Cheers!
  3. @ midnight. Well, Ive managed to get Windows to install telnet. Then I followed the instructions as in the You Tube link you kindly sent and believe it or not I get to the last hurdle on the instructions and I cant change to the blasted directory to delete the account on my dvr s it wouldn't change to it! I mean, talk about some Chinese computer dvr programmer having the last laugh! They certainly did! The Chinese were always good at revenge, my English teacher at high school told me that. Ah well a paper weight it is then.
  4. I have checked that You Tube Video (None of his suggestions work on my pc) & every other on the website but none solve my problem. Still hopeful of some sort of button factory reset.
  5. HI. Can anyone tell me where the chip resistor is on my image so i can do a factory reset on my dvr machine please? Usual problem - password thief!
  6. I have uploaded an image of the my dvr board. Apparently I have to short out a chip resister but not sure where exactly it is located.
  7. HI. Yes I did. Its most bizarre. Everyone else doesn't have a problem with this popular problem but I am doing.
  8. I have an 8 channel generic DVR which I've forgotten my admin password. Now I've tried the switching on & off of power and removing the internal battery procedure then replacing it again and switching back on routine many times but still the system wont accept the default password. I've also disconnected the hard drive using the same procedure but still cant get back in to the menu systems. I've looked at many You Tube Videos including the ones which show factory resets but none have worked on my system. I've heard there may be a button sequence to force a factory reset. Does anyone know what it is? Any help appreciated. Thanks.
  9. I have a Generic H.264 DVR 8ch system fitted with a 1TB SATA Drive. I bought it off Ebay new. Everything works as it should except trying to log in from my computer so I can use the supplied CMS software. After configuring the port forwarding settings through a Virgin Superhub 2 correctly I believe because it does connect to my DVR's address BUT when I try to log into the DVR from Internet Explorer using the usual Admin & blank password it connects - but that is all it does as it goes straight back to the log-in screen. I've read the instructions many times (They're a little confused probably to poor Japanese to English translation) but all they do is raise more doubts than solutions anyway. Now, all I'm interested in people is simply logging into my DVR from my own computer on my own network at the moment (one step at a time me think) so what am I (and I must be) doing wrong? I installed the CMS software from the mini-CD and it seemed to install okay. One thing I have noticed is there is no .exe file in the folder (should there be one?) to make the CMS software work. I've been at this problem for days now and I don't mind saying I've had enough so I thought I's visit all the kinds experts on here in the hope that someone can start to solve my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. PS Problem solved.
