Hi there! I have a Hard Drive Problem with my Dahua NVR-104p. I tried to use a hard disk which is NOT in the compatibility list from Dahua, but without succes. So, it is IMPERATIVE to use a compatible hard drive?

Hi there! I have a Dahua NVR 104P. Can I use regular 2.5 inch hard drives? Or it will work only with the specified HDDs from the producer? I tried to use a regular 250GB WD Scorpio, but the NVR does not see it. Maybe this drive must be pre-formated Ext2 or something like that? Thanks!

You could try.. But I broke my camera with a DH firmware. I needed USB to Serial TTL imterface to recover it. Maybe it work with a General one...

I have it.. But maybe you don't need that *.img. You could simply burn an Chinese firmware from 2015 and revert the web interface to English.

Hi! Don't Buy 4300S-V2! You will be not able to update firmware like on 4300S (V1). Also, this V2 version has an ugly PoE adapter outside the camera! If you are looking on AliExpress, you will not find V1.. Unfortunately, you will find only V2 with Chinese Firmware and English web interface..

Hi Peter. For modifiing your firmware you will need the new firmware and the old firmware as well. I imagine that you have now an Chinese firmware modified to have English interface.. For what I know until now, maybe is better to find a new Chinese firmware, burn it in the ip camera, then to modify some files with Telnet for having English interface...

Hi. Unfortunately I can't give an advice to you because you have a different kind of camera. I don't know if the firmware modifing will give the ability to burn English firmware.. What is couriousvto me: I also have an Dahua NVR104-p with Chinese firmware and English interface. But, last nigjt, I was able to simply write English firmware from 2015 without any problems..

Chill out. If you have a chinesse version of the camera, you are stuck to the original firmware..Almost..

There are already several newer General firmwares from 2015 like: - General_IPC-HX5(4)XXX_Eng_P_Stream3_V2.420.0000.8.R.20150202.bin This one seems to have IVS. Could you try this?

After using HexEditor, I can simply open the .bin file as is (without renaming it to .zip) using Total Commander (it is possible to need WinRAR instaled). Then delete check.img and copy it againg from R.20140621_a.bin. General_IPC-4300S_Stream3_V2.420.0002.0.R.20140621_a.bin was found online. Seems to be my original 4300S-V2 firmware. ___________________________________ Another discution may be related by the names of the firmware files.. I tried to use: - DH_IPC-HX5(4)XXX-Adreia_Eng_P_Stream3_V2.420.0008.0.R.20150710.bin and maybe, being an Dahua (DH) (not General) firmware, it broke my camera.. Now I am afraid to check other 2015 firmware like: - General_IPC-HX5(4)XXX_Eng_N_Stream3_IVS_V2.420.0000.10.R.20150424 which is a General one, because i already cut out the wires from the camera board and I can't use my Serial-TTL adapter..

First of all, the 2014.12 firmware must be modified because, by default, 4300-V2 will not accept it. _____________________________ So I used: - General_IPC-4300S_Stream3_V2.420.0002.0.R.20140621_a.bin (this was the original firmware from my V2 camera) - General_IPC-HX5(4)XXX_Eng_P_Stream3_V2.420.0005.0.R.20141205.bin (this is a V1 firmware found on internet) I only replaced in R.20141205.bin the following file: check.img (I extracted from the original firmware and copied it in the new firmware). To do this operation you will need to use HexEdit first, on both firmware files, to make them open-able like an archive --> modify 2 letters from DH to PK. After that modify back PK to DH and the camera will accept the new firmware. Then the web interface will need some adjustments, like presented on cctvforum. It will then work ok and will be in English. If you will need English help in the web interface, I can post here some simple explanations. Good luck! _______________________________ If is necessary, I can upload somewhere my modified R.20141205.bin which works on my 4300S-V2. _______________________________ One forum user reported that he is able to use a newer version of firmware, from 2015, with new features like Intelligent Video Surveillance, but I doubt! _______________________________ What is unpleasant, is the fact that all the well documented or smart forum users, only describes partially the steps which are necessary to do.. I modified 2014.12 firmware from V1 to be used on V2. But, after burning this firmware there are some steps to make to recover web interface and English help.

I recoverded it using 12.2014. Unfortunately.. But I heard from other users that it is possible to use some 2015 versions..

Hi there! These V2 are made only for China market. To be sold outside China, sellers only invert interface language from SimpChinesse to English. If you need English help, I can post a simple method using Telnet to solve this problem. Also, I was able to write 2014.12 firmware in my camera. After that I tried to burn 2015.07 firmware, but, after that, my camera was broken..I managed to recover it using a serial TTL interface..

Thanks! I have a IPC-HFW4300S-V2 purchased from Ali Express that won't natively take the newer English firmware files. It has anyway English Interface. Follow this forum, I am able now to burn a firmware from 12.2014 with English Web Interface and English Help. I still have problems with newer versions of firmware, like 2015.07.

Hi there! I was fooled by an AliExpess seller and I brought 2 Dahua HFW4300S V2. This V2 version has 2 major ugly parts: the POE adapter is not in the camera body (and i will try to find a way to introduce it in the camera) and the other ugly thing is the firmware update.. I understood that this V2 is made only for China and the firmware is not compatible with the 4300S version. My camera has English interface but I can't burn new firmware..
