Does anyone have a solution to "How do you secure recorded video from tampering or stealing hdd storage?" Thanks, LouisIsMyDog

Hi Everyone, I have the mini_nvr k108 8ch like most ppl here. I have an external hdd attached to the nvr that I record the video footage with. Does anyone have a solution to export recorded video to a remote location? (aka server) For example: Someone stole the hdd, how would I know who took it? I would like to hear solutions from others who are using this device as their video surveillance. Thank you for your responses in advance. -LouisIsMyDog

I don't know. I use only http access to the NVR and not the PC application. Is there any advantage using the Video Monitor Client? Well, I image there is a lot you can do. You can access and Rec all recorded files on your hdd attached to your mini NVR so you can share them with ppl. You can have all recorded files off site to ensure security to footage. Plus I do not like the NVR's web server too much. It has a horrible GUI.

On my NVR the access is on the standard telnet port: 23. Usr: admin, pwd: anni2013 Thank you giovalx. That worked for me except the login credentials were root:antslq. Also, I cannot get the "Video Monitor Software_20151020" to show any video. It is just pitch black. Recognized my mini_nvr on port 5050 with protocol i8 but cannot see anything. Do you know why this might be? Was anyone able to use the Video monitoring software the device comes with? Thanks

Hi Everyone, Can someone please explain how to telnet in the mini nvr? I do not know what port to connect to the NVR. Thanks, LouisIsMyDog

Hi Giovalx, What protocol are you using to connect to your cameras? Thanks, LouisIsMyDog

Hi Giorgio, Can you post the configuration for the motion detection. How did you change the camera configuration? Through telnet? Thanks

For me, I used the 8CH_Mini_NVR_V4.0_20150805_Firmware. The device I have is K108. I dragged and dropped the contents of Recovery File (for N6200-4E/8E,N6200-4EL/8EL,6100-4EP/8EP,N6100-4EP,8EP) to a formatted usb drive. I forget what file system I formatted it as. Then I dragged and dropped the contents of the firmware on there as well. Hope that works

Hi Mike Mahon or anyone else , I have the Mini NVR K108 like everyone under this topic. I have two questions. • I want to turn on motion detection for my IP Cameras. I have 3 cameras which are connected using onvif protocol. 2x Samsung SNH-P6410BN and 1x Zmodo Ezcam ZM-SH-721. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe I need to install two new protocols on my nvr using the rebooting tools supplied on http://www.urcctvstore.com/Download.html in order for the cameras to communicate propery with the nvr. Does anyone know what protocols I need to install on the nvr? Mike Mahon has been a lot of help to people on this matter so I am hoping to hear from him . ps. I am running firmware V4.0[20150808] on my nvr device. • Also, I cannot get the Video Monitor Software_20150814 aka video monitor client to work. The software can recognize the mini nvr on the lan network with the i8 protocol but for some reason when I preview the channels, I see no video. The channels are pitch black. Does anyone know why this is happening? ps. I diseabled windows 7 32-bit firewall just in case. No help. I want to thank everyone in advance for their help.
