Actually, whilst I am at it, perhaps I could aks if anyone has had the same problem I have with Swann (DVR08B and 04B) I set the network to a static address and one of the systems will change it to PPPOE after 10 minutes - with rubbish in the password and ID fields. If I tr to use PPPOE and enter the right details, it also changes itself to rubbish after ten minutes. My other system is alo static but I noticed that it had changed to DHCP all by itself too - though it still works. Aver seen this? thanks

Sorry for the provocative title! I have a couple of Swann systems and they do what I want when they work - send me mails with photos, notion detection and so on. One system is pretty unreliable and regularly loses configuration so I want to replace it. I have see many systems from companies in CHina which cost less than a quarter of the price of Swann systems - albeit without discs usually and the ability to add USB or SATA. Seems to be too good to be true! Quanmin, Sannce, Floureon come to mind. Am I missing something? I would guess these systems are pretty reliable and good quality but would anyone recommend one? thanks. It would be a replacement of the analogue 4 channel Swann DVR04B with either a 4 or 8 channel. Any advice gratefully received.

I have various cameras attached to my Swann system - PRO530, PRO735 for example. The problem is that they don't seem to last very long and I either get the infrared failing so they don't work at night or line-scrolling. What other cameras can I attach. Any hints? Cheaper would be good too! Thanks

The camera is an ADS191 btw.

Yesterday after a power cut, one of my video cameras now has a continuously scrolling picture as though it has lost sync. Any ideas what could cause this? I say it happened after a power cut but this could be unrelated. It is Swann camera and has worked perfectly until yesterday. Any hints gratefully received! thanks

This is probably a dumb question but here goes.. I have bought Swann cameras for my Swann DVR. Is there anything specific about the camera or can I buy any camera which meets their basic specification (non HD at the moment)? thanks for any advice

I have a Swann 8-2600 system and mainly PRO-530 (600 TV Lines 728 x 488 pixels) cameras. I would like better resolution but can't use HD but I can go to the PRO-735 cameras where the resolution is 720TVL 720x576 pixels). Will I notice the difference given the small difference in specifications? I actually wonder why they produced the 735 actually. Any recommendations or should I go HD and buy a new machine?

I have Swann PRO530 and 510 cameras and one of them is fine during the day but at night the LEDs are not red and there is a very poor image. Clearly the infrared is not working. Is there any easy resolution to this? Can the LEDs be replaced easily with a decent soldering iron? I alos have a couple where not all the LEDs are red as well. thanks for any hints
