Help setting up a 4 channel dvr box with4 cameraa

Hi,i need some help setting up a network dvr box for my new house, at the moment i have them at my house which im still lving in because my other 1 is getting built,im trying to see if everything works first here. Does anyone know how i can configure the network dvr box with a laptop,because i want to see if its recoriding or not -
