4 channel h.264 encoder
Michelangelo replied to thewireguys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Never heard of this brand before but it claims to do what you need: http://www.storesonline.com/site/897581/product/NOVO1-4 Not sure who supports it though. -
Geovision IP NVR 10cam
Michelangelo replied to ManisonSecurity's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
What type of cable do you have between the switches? How much data can the Geovision unit receive at the same time in Mbit? Have you tested by starting with 2 cameras, then 3,4,5 etc. ? -
New Axis M1031-W just arrived
Michelangelo replied to thewireguys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Sorry about the IR, misread that one. Just did not get the exitement over a home web camera. My point is that AXIS does not come from the security world, they did printer servers. Now they have made some pretty good cameras but they also confuse people by making cameras that are not more then home web cameras. I run in to the older types of web cameras from AXIS in medium size stores sometimes. -
New Axis M1031-W just arrived
Michelangelo replied to thewireguys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Well, fixed lens with only VGA resolution. Weak IR. I just dont think this is a camera for the security industry. It is a advanced web camera. For home use. Sorry... -
New Axis M1031-W just arrived
Michelangelo replied to thewireguys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Sorry if I am chrashing the party here but Axis need to learn the difference between a security camera and a web camera. Not saying that Axis dont have any decent security cameras, but this is not one of them. Those images suck for security use. -
Geovision IP NVR 10cam
Michelangelo replied to ManisonSecurity's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Most likely a bandwith problem. Those switches will probably be to weak to stream megapixel cameras with a high framerate. Try to switch one of those into a gigabit switch and see what happens. -
There is no easy answer to this. You need to know which DVD writer and which firmware version you want to use and ask your supplier of the DVR. There is no yes or no answer to this question.

Have you set up port forwarding on the router?

Help viewing footage stored as *.drv
Michelangelo replied to hobbsy479's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Check with GoVideo , their DVRs seem to record the files as .drv Check this link: http://www.govideo.com.au/library/DVMR%20AVN%208%2016%20e%20MPEG%204%20Digital%20Audio%20Video%20Recorder%20Remote%20View.pdf -
ACTi NVR software alternatives
Michelangelo replied to RC_TeeJay's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You got lots of choices. My favourite is Omnicast from Genetec if the customer can afford it. Otherwise Milestone or Exacqvision would do the job for you. -
PTZ Control Wiring
Michelangelo replied to CCTVBeginner's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
You need a unshielded twisted pair normally. Therefore you can use two of the wires of a CAT5. Just check if you need a ground also for your system then you need one extra wire. -
Forwarding ports 5000 and 5001 for PROLiNK H9200 for DVR
Michelangelo replied to dee-u's topic in Computers/Networking
Ok, if I am understanding you correctly you are on the same lan as the DVR and are not going through the Internet? If so you dont need any port forwarding just enter the ip of the DVR in the application. I dont know your IP knowledge but if you have IP: 192.168.1.111 and subnet 255.255.255.0 on your DVR then your pc must have 192.168.1.XXX as IP (not .0,.111 or .255) (And subnet 255.255.255.0) Let me know if that helped. -
DVR does not work on lan. Zonet ZFS3016
Michelangelo replied to scorpion's topic in Computers/Networking
Sounds strange but I suggest you take it step by step. Bring your own cheap small switch and connect the DVR and a computer. If you can see it then or not provides you with more info where the error might be. -
DVR does not work on lan. Zonet ZFS3016
Michelangelo replied to scorpion's topic in Computers/Networking
I googled the Zonet 3016 and correct me if I am wrong but isn´t that a switch? There is no ip linked to the switch itself. -
According to the manual you only have Pelco P and not D. But you also have some other protocols. What options do you have whith your camera?
-
What other equipment do you have on the network? Please keep in mind that a router has 2 ip-adresses. One that is visible from outside (internet) and one that is internal on the network.

Read the manual. It should tell if you can view through a browser. -

Are you using a web browser to view the video or is it a special software? -
Need help setting up a Eneo DVR forremote viewing over DSL
Michelangelo replied to stoogman's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Do it yourself. Find out which ports to forward, then check this out, use the guide: http://www.portforward.com/ Try yourself first at your office or something. No need for a IT guy. -

CCTV blue screen
Michelangelo replied to tonybags04's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I think you need to provide more info than this: Were the cameras ok before this? Why were you going to reboot the router? Can you ping or connect to the cameras if you hook up a computer? -
Replace Pelco 7000 and 7100 DVR's. Need advice.
Michelangelo replied to totalstu's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Can someone tell me why they say that it can record in 4CIF and the next sentence they say it´s D1? ("It rivals over its predecessor (RTA) with double the recording resolution at full D1") Not a huge difference but still not the same. And the name of the DVR includes D1. -
Biggest difference between the standard and the Pro is performance. 400 fps in cif in standard and 400 fps in 2cif in Pro(PAL). Audio and hot spot search is another option with the pro. Havent tried the storesafe.
