video day vs. night, please help
Knoxville replied to davidlopez2384's topic in General Digital Discussion
Install more lights around the area you want to view its the lux rating of the camera that's giving you issues -
Is there a memory card slot on the receiver ? If not yes you need to buy a Recorder
-
Hi Yes you should use separate cables for install 1 for power 1 for video 1 for rs485 as all in 1 cable will only cause interference. Well the image dropping at night can be that the Power supply is not strong enough if the IR comes on at night the Cam draws more power!! That's if it is a IR PTZ Is it only 12 V or does the PTZ support 24 V aswell ? If it supports 24V try a 24V power supply should sort out some of the issues

Sounds like the cable is picking up resistance ? Replace the cable

System Design Help. (Remote monitor of many systems)
Knoxville replied to chardho's topic in System Design
Good day You can replace all your incompatible DVRs with Hikvision Inbedded Hybrid Units and just transfer the recording drives over to the Hikvision recorders to save costs. By doing this you can load a VMS at your Local Control Room and monitor all of them at the same time and you can add IP at a later stage if funds allow. There is no easy Cheap solution to this but to spend some money know and migrate to a Practise standard system. I would recommend Hikvision for this as its affordable in many situations and flexible as well. -
Hi Max distance for Coaxial Cable is 300 meters Going to have to use Fiber And get rid of the Turbo and go IP for this install

How to add dedicated PC for VMS to Home Network
Knoxville replied to bdog14's topic in General Digital Discussion
According to The resources required for a operator friendly system it is not recommended to run the recording on a file server without the hardware being capable of handling the strain. Try and keep it separate to your Server Network. and try and get your recording drives separate as that is best practice What type of VMS will you be using ? And how many Cams ? Hard Drive space on NAS and speed ? -
