I purchased a Q-See 16 channel QC9416 DVR. It indicates a monitor can be hooked up to the VGA port or HDMI port. My older DVR was capable of several different monitor connections at the same time. Can the HDMI signal be split to two different monitors which will display the same image, no audio? Does anyone have a better way to do this? Factory Tech Support says it won't work but I feel that they really don't have any great knowledge of what I asked.

It worked well when I installed the splitter. I guess Q-See tech support does not have a clue about what works. They told me it would not work with a splitter.

I could use a little help with this issue. Today I installed a second TV/Monitor thru a HDMI splitter to my security DVR. On one channel I get a crackling audio when the one camera image is the display. When I switch to 4 camera view the noise goes away. I have 180 feet of the thin factory BNC and power cable going to the camera. It is my longest run with the factory cable. Is the camera or the cable the likely cause of the problem? I have longer runs, but RG59 cable in those.

Thanks again......I will get to it within the next few days. I can eliminate the long HDMI cable as the source as it only happens when camera 2 is on full screen. None of the other cameras on full screen cause the event.

I disconnected the splitter....Had the same audio crackle. I moved the camera from channel 2 to 12....same problem. There are no audio cables connected on the back of the DVR. The run to the monitor in question is about 60 feet and has the HDMI cable with the chip set to assist with signal loss. So, I think it could be the cable to the monitor, the cable to the camera. The image is very good quality. Any more suggestions?

Thanks for the info.....I believe I have seen mention of the HD-CVI when they mentioned the PTZ.

I have an Analog HD Q-See DVR using H.264 codec with BNC camera connectors. Besides the video resolution (720p) of a camera, how do I know which cameras will work with the DVR?

Thanks for the link. I guess that means it should work with a splitter. I did order one from another manufacturer, a commercial grade one.
