what type DVR? check to see if they have client software that allows for connecting to multiple DVR's at the same time. If you get the above worked out I'd use dyndns.org to update your IP addresses to a named site rather a IP address. Keeps things easy. ie. I have multiple DVR's (different types) all over the country. I assign a simple URL name associated with my client that my dyndns account updates the IP address of the Router/DVR. Then I use client software to program my clients access to all via 1 software program.....client DVR software.

tested it....small and works ok. if all you want is pics...............the software was buggy and don't look anywhere for support becasue it's not there....unless that has changed? try to find a simple web site that you can download firmware for it......you'll see what I mean. concept wise it's neat.............security reliability wise it's very weak. let me know if you find newer firmware becasue I have (2) of these still in a box.........and I like playing with stuff.

I've got the evq-1000 dome & box. Both connect via BNC and both require the small "ptz" type programmer. They are "neat" and produce a nice pic. I just could not justify paying the amount of money for them as compared to cheaper analog cameras. I still have these (2) on the shelf since I tested them. I might take them with me when I goto upgrade my favorite client in Florida this month?

Regarding Samsung SNC-550 IP Camera
VST_Man replied to fahedakhter's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
are the files saves as standard windows video type or are they "special? I use Video Insight to do my IP camera solution because the files are saved as standard windows type and you can also access the stored video from any networked PC via client or Internet explorer. Video Insight IP software is one of the easiest to use and it also has lots of bells and whistles................and support is All American from Texas!!! I know I may not have helped much but many self installers run into issues after they make a savings/purchase and then wonder why is don't rung any bells. Good luck. -
Honest thoughts on ACTi cameras?

warranty sucks as compared to others.......... -
thanks..........is there a reasonably "inexpensive" switch I can purchase to improve my monitoring? I'd like to monitor/confirm bandwidth usage on DVR's & cameras while testing them.

Go green, great idea.have fun! you might get killed or robbed on the way toyour mailbox.... the "pennies saved" to operate or hybernate.....hum? I'd like to see the savings as compare to the amount of work/time you'll spend figuring it out only to find out it's not worth it. talk to Aver all you want here. also, over here in Idaho electricity is cheap too........ and, I am more than sure you are doing it wrong now............ you asked, I answered..........if you don't like my answer, it's ok..the beer over here is just as good over there, right! -
ACTi NVR software alternatives
VST_Man replied to RC_TeeJay's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I am testing Video Insight's new IP software right now and it is very nice. I'm running a Acti ACM-7411, Arecont 3130, and (2) Axis 207MW's. So far is looks and feel good, no bugs, and the clent & internet access are pretty slick............ Whenever you get software for free.........go figure it is buggy. I suppose when a camera manufacture figures out that if they supply a DECENT free NVR package that they will sell a lot more cameras..............but that makes sense eh? And the facts are...in this techno rapid market you can't provide free software that works unless the labor and skills to build it are paid for. -

I'm pretty sure you doing this wrong. Hybernating a DVR is like turning off your oxygen under water. Why Hybernate? Let the DVR run..........and if you want to schedule your recordings or anything else.........program the DVR software. Oh, and Avermedia tech support phone number is 408-942-2118. this forum is NOT a Avermedia portal to tech support. when you post anything on this forum it sits out here until read by knuckleheads like me. Happy Holidays........ -
Asus boards.worked good.no probs obviously you have a bad combo........I'd try. - reset the MB to default - get MB drivers updated..........most likely this will help///// - try different memory.....I've seen memory conflict with video cards - onboard video? disable and try video card I had a card not work in one box and when moved to another it worked fine..........both boxes were dells.same build, ect.
-
have you tried loading to just one 6480? Then swap them.test them. Then build it up from there? also, if you have any other devices, cards, ect.plugged in.unplug and retry.

I'm in Northern Idaho, my Biz is in SC. I joined the local Marine Corps league here and I want to provide a dial-up service to the internet for our members......for FREE! I will donate my time and any equipment needed to make this happen. My Goal/Concept is simple. It will be used ONLY for Servicemember dial up access tot he internet...............for which THEY will pay nothing. I did 24.5 years and I want to give something back to those less able. I was amazed at the number of vets up here that cannot afford dialup access or don't have the kowledge to do it............either way I am going to try.. If anyone has any information on where I need to start please post it here. We have a VFW that I can install the equipment at. I'm also willing to buy the bandwidth. I just need the right equipment/contact to get this thing off the ground............... Semper Fi........

I've used the low end, no IR, LPR cams..........I mean under 200 a cam. They work pretty good at lighted gates. And, dollar for dollar, they work. So why not use them? I've considered the megapixel approach but have not gone there yet because the low end works fine.......... In any LPR camera you'll have a certain % of misses, dirty plates, no plates, ect. My opinion......LPR are a convienance and not needed........I'd rather spend that money on decent pics of the area........ case in point; gated community had LPR and a low end area coverage cam.....ex employee came in one weekend and cleaned out the liquor & freezer..........we had a great pic of the license plate and a not so great pic of the perp...........from day 1 I warned them about this and wanted them to spend as much on the area coverage cams.but they chose not to. So, the Cops bottomline is, the car was there.........now we have to prove he was. Oh, and the bigger issue in my area in the population here is more dark skinned than light skinned. And I am not being racist...but dark skinned people are hard to video at night......................a decent camera works but it is still very hard to get right.
-
times are changing........and so is crime.................megapixel camera prices are droping and stroage is cheap, which allows "us" to compete with better pics at a "slight" increase in cost. Don't discount the option when selling................sell both systems and allow the Bank to decide. You'll look better. Besides, I heard the Banks just some spending money.........

which arecont do you have? Ya know, I've heard this statement about Arecont cameras more than once. Yes I use them and yes I agree, the advertisement is better than the actual. Why is that Arecont? I'd like to hear why from Arecont? But, I know that I use DVR A, and many others use DVR's B, C, D, ect. So, the quality of the pic can be effected by the DVR, monitor used, ect. So, Arecont needs to explain the impressive pics..........all this wondering is wrong, especially with the amount of money spent for 1 cam.
