    wireless project

    - Long shot...IP camera with wireless back to Office1, Or IP video Server, multipule camera type like Pixord 4 channel.......so you can expand, add, ect. - Office2 IP Server/camera's - others can be done via burried RG/UTP cabling......if not, wireless. - recording solution for IP camera's? you'll need something like VideoInsight's IP Server.
  4. for a 500 dollar IP PTZ camera it's not bad. The axis 213 is much nicer but the price is also above 1500 with a outdoor enclouser. motion......yes, and yes.........triggered by a AC powered motion device attached to the current lighting.........something sets it off and lights come on....camera catches the action. reliability of Toshiba software? I use Video Insight IP software...........work well.

    Lifespan of CCTV camera

until it breaks.................warranties today ARE selling positions but I wonder if a 5 year warranty is really going to be available 5 years from now? Especially with small biz, internet biz. But, if you purchase from a decent supplier your warranty returns should not be a problem. 2 years is the norm, and most tempermental camera's will poop out in under that time. If you can handle the wait and hassel of the internet "RMA" system, compared to a local installer with camera's on the shelf............suck it up and wait or call and complain.
  6. you'll need to spend a bit more money to get a quality pic, low light, wireless, audio, ect. Middle of the road is the Toshiba...........just add a mic and it works very well. Only issue I've had with it is the low light sucks as you either get a great low light pic with blurry pics or a lousy low light with no pic................under lit conditions..works pretty good. If you can add motion lighting, this might work.
  7. pin 1 rs485 + to Green--data reception R(A) pin 2 rs485 to Yellow--datd reception also set your termination via the dip switches.................if this is a single PTZ or at the long end of the wire(s), set termination "on"

    Good Computer Lockbox?

why not lock them out via software?
  10. I think the "best" are hardware compression cards.....which are starting to become better supported and will one day pass the software compression cards. The "best"? I am slightly biased so I won't go there but the "best" is usually the one that is well supported. By the way, why not goto Vegas and look? Ask? And, a Vegas quality DVR, PC Based or otherwise, will require a monster server/CPU. Were talking 30fps per camera, highest bytes per frame, and "record always".........large storage space required. I also belive that "Vegas" is using video enhancing software (pricy) for use on the recorded video AFTER it is recorded/stored. And then a full time "staff" to keep the system running perfectly.....................all the time. If money is no object, I'd recommend that you hire a full time IP smart, video smart, security smart, TRUSTworthy guy like me. I'm available for 1million a year...........interested?

    Port Filtering

port filtering only allows certain IP addresses thru a specific port YOU choose. Step by step? Goto the linksys web page and read the info on your model. Otherwise, just program the specific IP address(s) and then test. Reboot the linksys via power off....AFTER you svae your settings.

    VNC vs. RDP vs. ?

    remote view firewall/protect computer

linksys router will protect you. As long as the Server JUST records video you won't need virus or firewall protection. Just set up the port forwarding to the Server. guides? do a search on the forum as there are many good points, ect.

    IP Radio ?

your going to need commercial grade microwave equipment, not the low end stuff I mentioned above. good luck.

    IP Radio ?

distance? I've used Linksys wireless routers, netgear wireless routers with Hawkin high gain antenna which worked very well.................and is cheaper than other solutions.

    IP Radio ?

http://ritron.com may or may not be what your are apply it? What is the application for? Ritron can provide/extend radio communications and switchable radio device that allow for VHF/UHF comm. I am currently using it to pass alarm switches to a panel via VHF radio. works well.
  17. I agree..........unless your installing you really don't want to spend 700 on a meter just to check the signal. connect and "see" how it goes from there. tipped means, connectors installed on cable.

    very large system.... need help

I'd do it on a PC based DVR. where are you located? I sell & install Video Insight. If I can help PM me and I'll see how much fun it can really be. 100+ camera's will require several high end PC's (6 or 7) all on a seperate high speed network (fiber) network. I'd go dual core, the best. Hardware compression cards provide the "best" picture. Are you recording all of these camera's at the same time, or just providing a video show? It would be best to read to contract to see specifics on the details of..................
  19. testing = cable passes signal (video, dat, ect.) to a standard. Some use a meter to test for signal strength and freq. response. commissioning = ??? never hear that word..., connect and place into "service". if they have not "tipped" the ends yet the connecting of them is not that easy. if tipped, yes, connecting them is not that hard....BUT, has the power been cabled also? connecting up the power can be a bit harder, but not impossible. if 24 ACvolts just connect one wire to each lead. If 12vdc, you need to make sure you apply the + voltage to the proper lead on the camera...............or no joy. but I have to ask. if you purchased a "system", was the seller leaving out "the fine print" on the contract? to sell a installed system and not connect it is a bit sloppy and greedy......or did you contract a cable install only?

    cameras in a welding classroom

sounds like your are getting very close shots? anywho, protect the lense and also make sure you look at the grounding of the welder AND the camera equipment. Sice you'll ave obvious differences in potiential and the fact that a welder is a electrical monster..................just make sure you don't cause a shocking event....

Doesn't look like a plane to me??

I was 2 blocks away when it hit that day..........it is a disgrace that some feel inclined to support these false claims having no evedince of thier own, just theories passed around, causing more anger and pain. How quickly we forget..............and follow those who attempt to cloud the truth. Many died that day and will never be forgotten by me.....and more are sacrificing yesterday, today, tomorrow, and their futures so that others may freely and openly act unamerican. seeking the truth is one thing, repeating anothers "claims" is just .....an ASSumption. You'll find that most of those who are even thinking this is true have never even served..............they just received. Or they are nuts. and yes, I am a meat eater!

DVR Record images to a webserver for review

why not hide the DVR and place an old VHS recorder on the shelf with 4 wires coming into it? Make it look good enough to take................... what kind of DVR is it? yes FTP can be used in some cases, as with software recording solutions, IP type.

    Any experience with Spytown?

ordering from Spytown is like waiting for your tax return check..it's in the mail! And your really in for a special treat if you want to return ANYTHING. They suck. And the lesson to learn in this business is that the lowest price is almost an indicator of a poor product & poor service. Spytown has not impressed me and never will.

    Samsung scc-641(p)

all ptz's use code to enter the menu system. these codes are sent via you comm port you have connected, via ptz keyboards, and some unique hand held stuff. the codes to enter and how you send these codes vary from ptz to ptz. ie. I use a pc based dvr and have my ptz's connected to comm port 2 (data converter). one of my ptz allows me into the menu settings by clicking on the #1 preset twice. Once in I used the ptz controls to move thru the menu. my second ptz is different as it does not allow my pc based ptz control to enter via any preset sent. I had to find and use a seperate software program that I run from the pc based dvr that is basic; you type in the command code and hit enter.....and I enter code 64 twice and then the menu pops up on the screen.and fromm there I use te ptz controls to move around. Pm me and I'll send you the preset.zip file.
