not questioning who you are...................questioning the fix. like yourself I've done this before so it's not that hard. open box, turn on, setup Windows, allow pc to update FIRST.....bla bla bla and, when I first install ANY aver I do it via the server.......this is where I ran into the first problems. I ran as admin, enable ActiveX install, added to trusted, and then entered IP address of the server................wham! "install_language_2009326.exe" popup error followed by some other jibberish ??????. The problem has not gotten better. Aver did a tech support via phone and we delete webcamX, reloaded, restarted, and more. Still no joy! I even tried another server I have out there and it still came back with the same errors. There is a conflict somewhere.........I've built and installed over 100 of these things and it's not new to me......I am just looking for anyone else out there that has this issue and knows of a fix. Your link to remove is NOT for the Win7 OS since the verbage and instructions don't jive with the scren shots from Win7. Heck, I'll let you remote in via teamviewer if you'd like......to my laptop if you'd like.
-
I appreciate your input but when you say it's available on the intenet that leaves about 1 million places to look. I'm not going to use a removal tool that I think might work. I'd like to see the link you have used......on a Win7 platform, or I am not interested in trying it. I learned a long time ago that advice is somewhat helpful only if the details within are specific. You are generalizing the ActiveX removal "tool" and my gut instinct is that you've not used it yet on a Win7 Pro system? I'm not going there unless we have a theroy that has been tested. I've been told to do this and that by very helpful techs out there and in the end I had to rebuild my stuff........ again, this is a NEW laptop from Dell....can it be that hard?

I have the "newest" off the USA web site....Or is there another web site to download from? and, are you talking about the IE browser window or the Remote Counse? Which one will the aver controls be on the proper side IF I have the best software? Oh, I'm running 7.7.0.0055 SP3 My server has the controls on the rightside......the clients are not. Do I uninstall the server ActiveX or the client side? we are zipping back and forth and the info is not precise.... and, you keep mentioning a activeX uninstaller...........where is it located? Maybe Avermedia should have it on the download site?
-
what activex removal software are you talking about? They did have me delete the wecamX file in the download folder but that did nothing. on the bottom...............I know the software will load them to the right side if it is a wide screen. I also downloaded the remote counsel via the webtools and installed that. When I click on the event viewer it does the same "install_language" stuff......... My overall comment is; it should work better than it has without any "run as administrator" stuff. Be it the OS or Avermedia............it's Avermedia's place to get it right if they want me to keep selling and installing it. Other DVR manufactures seem to be able to make it work without all the headaches. Anyone else out there running it on Win& or Vista? comments?

Vivotek IP8332 works great -
thanks for the reply. new dell out of the box so it's unlikey that it is or was malware. happening on more than one PC despite other pc's with XP on them. called tech support and the rep told me he went home and tried it on his friends latop with WIN7 and it had the same problem(s). I'm not just jumping in front of the bus here........I've been doing this for awhile and it's not justa single problem on a single pc. what's up with the "run as administrator" thing anyway? I'm logged in as the administrator, duh! Oh, that's right, windows new software is like having a wife..they keep asking you questions they already know

Hire a Pro or be a DIYer? What's right for YOU?

I am a type A personality. I'd rather fight you than agree with you since I know I can take a pucnh better than the truth That group that hawks is not a concern to me anymore. Maybe not a group at all if the Professional accepts that they are there and not really a threat as long as they don't play the game. I can tell, within a couple of minutes of talking to a potiential client, if I am going to do the job. I've actually walked away from clients who "tell me" that I am too expensive and that I need to drop the price. I already know, based on marketing research, that I am the cheapest and best. Pull my chain and you can DIY or pay more. Thos type clients ALWAYS complain and ask for everything for free, whittle the cost of labor, wine about prices, and just waste my time. It's actually funny to see them stand there when I turn and walk away.......it's like I called the bluff and they know I'm not a push over.....oops! Welcome back? I've always been here...........check in a read every now and then. I've been "wasting" my time on learning Mikrtik and Ubiquiti radio's & technology. Just another tool in my chest now. I've actually created a small Wisp here to play with.....now I can talk MP cams, bandwidth, and technology required to get it there via wireless. ps...I'm not a group type guy, never have been! I like it up here in Idaho for a good reason. No neighbors to piss me off! -

you forgot one more type; the person who calls the professional and USES that experience to "hawk" info on systems and equipment inorder to purchase and install. These types ALWAYS ask for technical info and/or equipment model info. I've even had current clients call and ask in this poor economy inorder to save. I don't and won't give out that info. When I began I did it by mistake but I've learned along the way; my experience is worth money. Pro or not? Never really looked at it that way. I've always organized myself to beat the competition with the best support and equipment for the money spent. Not every install warrants a MP camera........ Professinals in my opinion are those who know the market place and available equipment and also keep up-to-date with technology. In this biz that means you spend lots of money on testing demo stuff. I've seen my competition in the market place and some are good but most are "stuck" on a accepted technology for that area. After building a biz for 5 years now the most important part during and after hard economic times is the clients respect. That has and will carry any biz into long term health. I've got systems out there that have been running since day one without any issues and I am happy with that. to answer the question; I'll hire a Pro as long as the cost is not crazy and the equipment works. I actually started my biz based on quotes I received from "Professionals" when I needed a video system. I thought a 4 camera system installed for 5k was excessive................and after some research I was right. I can do it for half that and still make money. So my answer is my biz model...........get it? -
modulator for cable or satellite boxes....
VST_Man posted a topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Does anyone currently inject the video output into a satellite or local cable box? I know you can inject into older cable systems with no problems but since all these new receivers keep coming out how has you injected CCTV onto the cable system? Is there a supplier out there that will sell me a modulator for a specific satellite or local cable box..that works? I want to provide my clients a easy way to view the CCTV system on the TV/satellite cable system without interupting that service. I can run a seperate cable or use a combiner but if I can install a modulator and inject on a channel........I'd be happier. Many sites remark that the modulator can but I'm skiddish to purchase unless Iknow it is designed to work with specific receivers. -
If anyone can help me find a outdoor mounting bracket for this outdoor dome please contact me. I've tried all sorts of different places, ordered it, go cancelled due to not in stock.....can't get it. used or new....... thanks

anyonwe out there have experience with it? I need some counseling..nonalcholic type have some free time to play & learn a deeper level of networking so I got one and I am starting to learn it ......... been all over the MTforum and watched the video's. stuck on adding a static to eth1 WAN link. almost "there"..... thanks
-
ok, looking forward to learning & helping. oh, that spam thing.....I don't buy it. They have a antispam built into the website when you create a user..........they are just a bit perinoid.
-
and ubiquit has one called AirControl........works also. I need to find out how to connect to my Ubiquiti radios' using RouterOS/450G Since they are not a installed "board" I'm wondering how I go about getting them configured into the RouterOS. Dude install easy......has the same like RouterOS interface so you'll be able to "doit"
-
I think my initial method of entering the ISP info & LAN structure caused me some pain..... The wrong way; load the default router settings and then change them to your config. Right way; start with a clean router and add your config as required. check the entries and functionality along the way. When I tried the wrong way I had issues with the changes I made not actually sticking. ie. I changed the LAN side from the default 192.168.88.1/24 to mine 192.168.1.1/24, changed the dhcp server & pool. after I did that I still kept getting a 88.1 ip address......despite the setting on eth2 were 1.1. So, I did a system reset from the terminal and thn added the info. And, the route 0.0.0.0/0 over to my ISP gateway was also needed..and wham it worked. NAT entry (srcnat)? I added that aso with default entries. Also added and got the port forwarding working over to my video server. have to get MajicJack running next. Bandwidth management and other things to come. RouterBoard in general is pretty decent. The different between that and basic routers is the RouterBoard opens doors to management of the entire link(s). Just have to learn the "lingo" and where it goes. Oddest part for me was the simple "Static IP" settings. The RouterBoard has every imaginable ISP IP address "link" that leads to specific required entires which eventually conf's the router for use under those conditions, but, you'd think they would have a "Static IP" link that opens into a box where you put your stuff. BUT, I know know if you assign a IP address to a port.......that's STATIC in their world. And of course you have to add the route, dns, and then srcnat...........and THEN you have a STATIC setup. Dang, if I had a dynamic or other type crappy connection I'd get all that filled in for me with a click.... Mikrotic's support is ok, in that the forum is "over brained" with IT types that really don't care about us small brained types. the forum actually has the moderators approving/filtering your content BEFORE it actually is posted. How unamerican is that? oh, that's right, they make these things in Russia....duh! I got some help on the forum from 1 person but it took my posts 2-3 days to get approved so if I had to get an answer fast......I suppose I could call my Mother.she knows everything I also have "Dude" up and running which is pretty cool.........I like pics! I am also using the Ubiquiti radio's. Nic echeap gear that works. Have a few links out to neighbors houses with cams attached for fun......have had no problems outside learning what radio to use when with what antenna and ect. Ubiquiti's forum is also fairly good........no opression yet
-
" title="Applause" /> I got it working............learning curve was fun. Now I have to work out the port forwarding and blocking and bandwidth management, ect. Yes, I am and have been into ptp & mptp. Playing with Ubiquiti & Engenius. Again, another learning curve but the wireless is easier for me because of my background than the networking. I have a small WISP here on the ranch in Idaho that I use to test all................my farmer neighbors think I am crazy Hay, what's up with Networking type anyway? Bunch of odd balls if ya ask me. They live in a world that they control via a router and anyone who wants to learn is basically SOL unless you know someone. I like to help others out whenever but those types are very thin skined and secret smelling.......... That's why I always loved the Marines. They instruct all to fight hand-to-hand and shoot straight. Because in the end, with out power cords...I can kick your ass I feel better........
-
I seen your stuff also...........just another furum to piss off my Honey I'm swapping out a Dlink with the 450G so I can learn some of the more technical things of networking. I can get it going in the client dhcp with my ISP BUT I can't get a static to work. My static allows more bandwidth.........client dhcp pulls a different ip with a lower speed. I get all the correct info into the 450 but when I try to log onto google or any outside link(s) it won't. but if I add a dhcp client.....wham, it works. I've put in the right "stuff" for the DNS, NAT, still no joy with my static IP when exactly, or where exactly, does the static IP address get entered? My Static is just that...static, no user name, password, ect. I add a IP address with my static info on ether1 and the local dhcp onto ether2345 (brigded) and then add the DNS & NAT. I can see my providers RouterBoards....and can ping them.....so I think my prob is actually routing? anywho, send me a email and I'll send you the snapshots and/or the dump. but, if you can imagine a simple WAN static on ether1 with a dhcp local on ether 2345......using a 192.168.1.0/24, the setup should be fairly defaulted..... Kerry I'll check out that book.thanks

if your running XP Pro or any other IIS type program, uninstall IIS........IIS uses port 80 and Aver see's it!

Advice on acti 7411
VST_Man replied to swampguinnie's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
do you happen to have the auot britness and noise reduction on? does it do it from the camera http link direct also or is it via aver? I've got several hundred of these cams out there and only seen 1 with a problem like this. and, I've seen the aver software make camera's go crazy when you use the auto noise and auot light features turned on. If you did have those settings "on" then you'll need to turn off and then double check you video settings to make sure that the britness, contrast, ect. are all back to a default setting.....aver software will change them and when you turn off the settings they will remain as set by the software.....most times a bad setting. -

VST_Man replied to swampguinnie's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I have one that did that, ah does that....sent it to acti.they sent it back with the video settings adjusted to compensate. I even set them a comparrison of another acti.....took snapshots of the good pic with the same video settings as compared to the bad one.......it showed the the video settings in the same positions but the obvious red hue on the bad one was OBVIOUS.......they never fixed it, just readjusted the video settings and sent it back to me. I'm not happy with the result from the warranty repair and will be sending it back. maybe I need to default it to get it back to normal? I'll try that and get back toy ou. -

one thing about IP cams is FPS restrictions of the IP cmas themselves and overall resolution recorded. most IP cams are restricted to 8fps at highest resolution and if you get anything better than that you end up paying mega bucks for the IP cam...... what are you recording? home or business? what type of business? If it's a home you can back off your 30fps since YOU DON'T need it....trust me when I say this.......you fine at 7 - 15 fps....15fps being very high for a home. that also goes for the resolution.....one or two cams at IP mega with the rest at 520yvl analog id fine. If it were me I'd start with a aver 6240 and 8 analog cams.....get the cheap 520tvl outdoor domes with IR......then budget your upgrades based on experience of these cheaper cams over IP cams. reality is; the more you spend on cams the more they cost to replace. sometimes presenting lots of analog cams provides the "statement" you want all to see....I got cams, go somewhere else! and you are correct to question IP cam resolution as recorded on the DVR..aver has it's restrictions/capabilities but if you build it as a simple system and improve later you'll do fine. matching a system to a requirement is a skill.....and some out here will attached a 10k camera to a $40 dollar requirement if they can sell it. be weary of over building it as you'll always need more......... CCTV junkyism........
-
where in CO...I have a Partner in Aurora...... start with your budget, then figure out number of cams/locations your need, and in a DVR (PC or standalone), then apply IP or analog. IP will provide better pics but the cost is 3 times that of analog. pm me if you want a POC there....

running it on a Vostro......have Axis207MW's, Acti 8211 - 7411 - 6630 - 3701, multiple analog, and a 1304satanet................... - have not noticed any issues as you noted above other than if I add or remove a IP camera I have to restart the program otherwise the changes don't take....
