NV5000 No signal showing, no errors, no messages ???
VST_Man replied to paranoid's topic in AverMedia
when "scraping" together CCTV systems you sometimes win and sometimes loose........Good Time Charlie Sings The Blues! Helping you with this problem is like tryimg to put a puzzel together in a closet..........you might get it together but the picture maybe a bit wrong in some places. Your trying to use a "new" card in a "old" system and Avermedia will tell you that "it's NOT recommended" because it's NOT recommended. I do appreciate budget systems but when it comes to recommended hardware you need to expect poor results. Your comment that you got the NV5000 because it is a decent card and then you kinda slight Avermedia because your having issues..........your creating the issues, not Avermedia................get it? We can recommend all sorts of possible solutions but we always start at the basics; - update ALL drivers - spec hardware for compatability - read the manual - search the web for possible help - buy some more beer and then post your issues here I'm not trying to slam you but I think Avermedia cards are pretty decent for the money spent and I learned a long time ago that if you build a system with scraps you end up with a scraped system....... ok, I'm out....too long and windy -

did you go into the camera settings and enable/program the cameras connected? recommended specs are best and anything "less" is a crapshoot. If you need this for any type of security I'd recommend that you go with the specs since this type of security is NOT something to entrust to older baseline equipment. -

onboard is most likely the prob. can you see any recorded viedo via a seperate player? If yes, then it's onboard. Did you spec this out as recommended by Avermedia? I'm pretty sure they recommend 128mb or higher, and specific video cards are recommended. -
Oh, I thought we were talking data................not High Def... I want it all for 10 bucks

2891.....hummmmmmmmmm I am a broke down 2805, former 2802, 2834, 2818. did mostly 7thcommbn & 8thcommbn's, 2nd yatyas, a stint in Bridgeport, and ofcourse the MacDill seabagdrag. I have a feeling I may know of you or even worse, you may know me..... reguardless, semperfi and if you need anything I'm here.... yes prices have gotten better.......I'm paying 90 a month for a 8meg down with a 2 meg up on a comcast line........that kinda bandwidth a few years back was crazy expensive. now it's a buyers market....since many lease the big pipes and competition keeps pricing bandwidth down.

sats are NOT slow if you buy the right equipment. If your talking TV type sat. your dealing with COTS and that is $60 a month deal. ALL data of ALL sorts is relayed via Satellite ALL over the world.......and it's just another 1 or zero in terms of digital data. $$$ drive quality in the satcom world..............spend enough and you'll have a T1, D1, or better in your lap anywhere you want it. I am a old Satcom technicial from the USMC. I was trained to set it up, maintain it, and operate it..anytime or place. Will & I used to do special ops stuff together out of a unit called JCSE in MacDill AFB Florida. Will is in on the best technology available because he is the best. He don't care how much it costs because his clients are looking for the best and are not weary of the price. Not bragg'n............jst letting ya know that Will is not Directway satcom.not even close. He can sell you a package the size of a small suitcase that will rock speed & quality.all via a small portable dish. Or, he can let you use his cell phone for free......

contact will at.... William.Huerth@missionmobility.com he is a long time friend, Army retired, has been doing Satcom his who life and he can not only answer all your questions, he can engineer it all. Tell him Kerry sent ya..........

OH NO! AXIS 207MW Lens assembly has come apart...
VST_Man replied to cctvnewbie's topic in General Digital Discussion
I did try a lense and it worked but the color was effected. If I had time I'd find the right lense that corrected the IR coating good luck -
OH NO! AXIS 207MW Lens assembly has come apart...
VST_Man replied to cctvnewbie's topic in General Digital Discussion
I did the same thing but was under the 1 year mark.............Axis replaced it....... I tried to reinstall the lenses but it was a mess..............at best. You can replace the lense with other like lenses out there.............you just have to try a few here and there....... Axis won't sell you a replacement lense? -

Please help! best night vis outdoor camera less than $1000
VST_Man replied to mikeygt350's topic in Security Cameras
cable.........siamese with 95% copper braid & 18/2 voltage wire.........100ft. is EASY with 24vac so you may have another problem. can you do IP camera's? if yes, go with a Acti ACM-7411 and a IR from SuperCircuits. if not, try a mini 10X day/night outdoor PTZ with the same IR. Your biggest issue will be eliminating the blurr effect.........I used the IR from SC's and it flooded an area 20ft. wide out to 70ft. Not the 200ft. plus sales pitch but it worked for what I need it. If you can, use normal lighting.motion type. Better picture at night and easier to maintain. KISS -
why? restrict times? why include a dvr when it works fine without it? and, if your looking to restrict.......use biometrics

I am looking for a cheap solution in creating a video wall using 4 or 9 LCD monitors. Does anyone know of a decent supplier. I also want to be able to use multiple inputs like HDSAT & PC.I don't need turn key, I want to build it myself. Thanks,
-
Video Wall is 2x2 with multiple inputs; DVI, VGA, component, HDMI. I found a cheap 2x2 by iVw4...order it to test. Most "solutions are expensive. And, some "reps" promised call backs and never followed up? SOS I guess.............. tnx for the info...........

ip cameras have seperate fps settings and the Avermedia software also allows for setting of the ip cams fps under camera details. if the fps cannot be set under details it most likely is not controlled via Avermedia. analog is done under recordings. good question since the availability of different types/manufactures. it is unusual or expensive to exceed 10fps at the ip camera, anything higher is unique and pricey. But, can software exceed the ip camera fps? ie. acti acm-7411 has a max. of 8fps max. resolution. Can I surpass that in software? I say NO since the camera will push 8fps and if I use software to try to increase beyond 8fps to 30fps I'd get 30fps of 8fps images.....basically a waste of 22fps. know your ip camera specs and then match them on the software/recording to ensure your not wasting system resources.

Hay Ben, I'll trade ya some CCTV install for a gate. I have 40 aces in Idaho and want to add a automatic gate that can handle the weather. We get lots of snow every now and then..

Deploying IP cameras
VST_Man replied to Sup3rFly's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
you'd think they would put a simple video out port on IP cams to aid the installation. Or, a network monitor that has PoE via network peer-to-peer with a focus meter, and of course, a beer bottle opener! -

Get out your protractors, and sharpen your pencils!
VST_Man replied to scorpion's topic in System Design
Scorp, if they are willing to tell you then they should be able to back it up with the actual written bid. If they refuse, they are lying and trying. I've had some say they can.......and the ones who are honest have the bid inhand ready to give to you. The others? I submitted my bid despite. money is money and you should submit a barebone system. Leave out anything that maybe a "duh" and spell out the qty by line number so they can't say "it should be included. Don't hate da player, hate da game....... -
try reflecting the flash of the game cam so that it does not directly hit the target/LP I'd reflect it down with a simple soda can hand made reflector to see if it works...............bend, shape, and tape. If it works........get something better. You could set up a large solar panel with batteries..............go wireless to the recorder.............use a decent LP camera. If they are serrious about security then they will pay for it. If not, they may need roving guard? Cutting corners by using "stuff" developed for other things is a "goat rope" way of saving money. Most always it ends up FUBAR......lots of time wasted, and a bad rap. Or, install a power drop and do it right

Aver 1304, ports open, still cant connect
VST_Man replied to crunkone's topic in Computers/Networking
You can..but, everytime you connect to it you'll need to add the 5001 at the end of your url.........just harder............. it's like choping a tree down with an axe when you have a chainsaw. But, it's your tree. -
Aver 1304, ports open, still cant connect
VST_Man replied to crunkone's topic in Computers/Networking
ok, you are confused on how ports work..especially HTTP port 80...unless you have a WEB server doing HTTP, you can set your DVR to port 80 and you'll still have internet/HTTP. gateway helps...................... -
Aver 1304, ports open, still cant connect
VST_Man replied to crunkone's topic in Computers/Networking
don't use DMZ............ got to http://www.no-ip.com and check the ports you have forwarded to m ake sure they are open. Then, check what your IP address is and use that to test your internet viewing. How is the router using port 80? Router should not use port 80. It might use 8080 for remote admin........explain dat please? make changes to use port 80 if ossible. Put the DVR inside the DHCP range.
