any dealer want to sell me 8ch card
sal replied to chade014's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
What is the app? I would look at the gv-1120-8 or the gv-1240-8. Have you used Geo before? -
Ok, for lets say for register that output in serial ASCI text, here is what you would need. 4 x GV-Data Capture boxes (one for each register) 1 x GV-HUB ( this is a USB to serial HUB with integrated 485 to 232 converter) The GV-HUB will give you 4 COM ports on your geo dvr. (One for each GV-Data Capture) You will run a twisted pair from each gv-data to the 485 screw terminals on the back of the gv-hub. The answer to your question is yes, you can associate a gv-data with any camera feed indvidually. Currently the max # of gv-data per geovision dvr is 4, but at some point Geo will release an IP based GV-data box that will allow up to 16 POS per DVR. Does this make sense?

yeah, good idea, even a small one

We were as surprised as you. I can get the old version, but we need to get 50 at a time, and most people don't need the Parallel and prefer the RJ45 connection that replaced it on the box. How many units do you need?

The geo works, but to be objective, I have seen some stuff from an Israeli company that toasts Geo's artificial intelligence features. It also toasts the price of course. -

Intelligent Video Systems will be very big over the next few years. I'm amazed by the accuracy of some of the software packages out there. It makes sense for all applications, especially as the price comes down. -
Yea dude, can you PM me your e-mail address?

We've had good results from this classic Panasonic monitor. Never compared it to the Sanyo though but I would be curious. http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelDetail?displayTab=O&storeId=11201&catalogId=13051&itemId=68322&catGroupId=14516&modelNo=WV-CK2020A&surfModel=WV-CK2020A

What geo card do you have? What CPU/Mboard do you have? What model video card do you have? Here is a great tool for everyone. http://belarc.com/free_download.html This download will give you the complete specs of any machine and all software installed on it. Run this and e-mail the html file to me so i can check to see if your hardware is appropriate for Geo. I often find a conflict pretty quickly.

First off, do you have sufficient power for the camera? What cameras do you have? What power supply are they on?

sal replied to K435's topic in Security Cameras
exactly, it is not only the number of LEDs, but the density and quality of the camera (i.e. IR cut filter, mech day/night. etc) -

For a little more $ the Nuvico camera is way better product. -
You need to have a camera zoomed in to capture someones face. Is there a certain point where you know a person will walk through? I can tell you the correct mm lens (use varifocal of course though) if you can tell me the distance to that point. from where the camera will be mounting. Of course you should also go with a good camera. You will want to zoom into that point, with one camera whose job will be for facial identification only.

Does the POS have a serial output? Epson makes a pretty quick Laser serial printer,
